Lemmon disco bar in Marbella port, located in the Puerto Deportivo (Marina). Lemmon is certainly not as up market as the bars in Puerto Banas and the Marbella Marina in general has seen better days and could do with a facelift. Lemmon has its fans and other who are not a keen. Tends to me more local visitors.
The beach club called Opium opened for the 2018 summer season and is run by the Bordas brothers: Ramón and Javier (manager of Barcelona football club). HiFunky Buddha Beach, Funky Budha Banus, Seven, Kube and Opera. In 2017 the site was opened as Funky Buddha Beach. Opium Marbella has a swimming pool, sun beds and bar area. Its unusual feature is the elevated nature of the beach club, all supported on wooden decking with excelent sea views and views to Marbella.
There are plenty of opportunities in Marbella for walking and hiking. Thes are both in the town's parks and gardens or along the seafront prom. Further affield hiking up the concha mountain is a popular achievement.

Fashion shops are located in three areas. In the old town and centre of Marbella, in the La Cañada shopping centre, and in Puerto Banus, both in the Marina and in the comercial area next to it which includes Costa Marbella comercial centre (El Corte Inglés) and Marina Banus shopping centre.
Playa el Cable (Cable Beach) takes its name from the overhead cable "El Cable Teleferico" runway that transported buckets of iron ore down from the Peñoncillo mine on the Sierra Blanca to ships moored offshore. If you look out to the sea you can't miss seeing the large anchor end tower of the line.
In Marbella at various points along the beach you can find a number of fishing boats filled with sand which are used for moragas. A moraga is a night-time barbeque party, usually held on the beach. It is traditional to Malaga province, but is also found in other parts of Andalucia. A moraga is differentiated from a barbeque in that the food being cooked is espeto (stick) of sardines.
Marbella has a family friendly tren turistico (tourist train) that runs all year round. It travels around the principal sights of the town taking about 25 minutes.
The glitzyresort of Marbella, for many the hottest place on the Costa de Sol in terms of glamour, gastronomy and nightlife, offers a variety of different language schools, catering for all levels from beginners to advanced. There are large schools, and some smaller privately-run schools which offer a more local and relaxed learning atmosphere.

The square - or rather a traffic roundabout - at the start of the Golden Mile was named after one of Marbella's founders, local priest Monseñor Rodrigo Bocanegra (1908-1972).

There are a number of privately operated heath clinics in Marbella for patients to go without referal as an alternative to the state health service. The Costa del Sol Hospital on the main A-7 coast road 7km east of Marbella center, is one of the best-equipped hospitals in Spain. Inaugurated in December 1993, the hospital is run by an independent company on behalf of the (SAS) Andalucian Health Authorities intil 2023. It was set up as a pilot scheme to improve the efficiency and quality of services, under a modern structure or organisation.
