The Starlite Festival is a month-long music and cultural event held in July / August at the Cantera de Nagüeles, in Marbella. It is now established as one of the important annual social and entertainment events in Spain. The stage is surrounded by 60 metre-high rock walls, which creates an interesting, intimate atmosphere, like a secret, hidden venue beneath the stars for the 2,200 guests.

Real de La Quinta is a large residential development just north of Marbella (within the Benahavís municipal district). It is being developed by the ‘La Quinta’ group east of their flagship resort, ‘La Quinta Golf’.

This theme park is located in Elviria district, 12 km east of Marbella town (A-7 km 191). It is the largest adventure park in Andalucia. There are 99 challenges in the trees and 26 ziplines distributed over 6 different adventure circuits

Messina one star Michelin restaurant has been delighting guests in Marbella with two tasting menus since opening in 2001. , under its Iialian chef Mauricio Giovanini, and gained its Michelin star in 2015.

El Lago Michelin restaurant in Marbella is beautifully set overlooking a lake and golf course, in a smart residential development, this is as slick as you’d expect for such an upmarket location. Chef Diego del Rio’s dishes include tuna tartare with ajoblanco of kimchi, apple and crunchy quinoa, or pigeon with puree of carrots, honey bread and soy and hazelnut sauce.

Small restaurant in the old town of Marbella run with chef Mario Cachinero at the helm, boasting two Michelin stars since 2019, (it won the first in 2008). You might find poached lobster, red quinoa and celeriac, or roasted rabbit served with mustard and parsnips. Closed on Mondays. Calle de Aduar, 12, Marbella.

Maya lounge by day and Maya disco bar by evening Marbella port, located in the Puerto Deportivo (Marina). More up market than others in the port. Th e Marbella Marina in general has seen better days and could do with a facelift.

The Big Boss Discoteca is located near the old town of Marbella.

The Local cafe bar lounge is located in Edificio Online, next to the Hotel Andalucia Plaza and Casino. It is a good place to meet and start the evening before going to Puerto Banus. The drinks are well priced and it is a quieter atmosphere. Cocktails and Snack are available. There is a small terrace and parking outside if you are lucky.

Lemmon disco bar in Marbella port, located in the Puerto Deportivo (Marina). Lemmon is certainly not as up market as the bars in Puerto Banas and the Marbella Marina in general has seen better days and could do with a facelift. Lemmon has its fans and other who are not a keen. Tends to me more local visitors.

The beach club called Opium opened for the 2018 summer season and is run by the Bordas brothers: Ramón and Javier (manager of Barcelona football club). HiFunky Buddha Beach, Funky Budha Banus, Seven, Kube and Opera.  In 2017 the site was opened as Funky Buddha Beach.   Opium Marbella has a swimming pool, sun beds and bar area. Its unusual feature is the elevated nature of the beach club, all supported on wooden decking with excelent sea views and views to Marbella.

There are plenty of opportunities in Marbella for walking and hiking. Thes are both in the town's parks and gardens or along the seafront prom. Further affield hiking up the concha mountain is a popular achievement.
