Satellite Villages
East of Estepona on the coast there are a number of small communities with commercial facilities that naturally differ in character from the newer housing complexes. The largest one is called Cancelada and other smaller ones are called El Pilar, El Velerin, El Pirate, El Saladillo and Isdabe. There are also well established holiday communities constructed in the 1980s with shopping and restaurant facilities at Benavista and Benamara.
Inland
Inland from the coast there are numerous small access roads with tracks leading individual rural properties. These can range from small basic country houses to modern spacious villas with swimming pools.
