Marenostrum Fuengirola - 24th April to 12th September 2026
Marenostrum Fuengirola celebrates its eleventh edition in 2026. Dates thus far announced run from 24th April to 12th September 2026. Marenostrum is one of the larger series of outdoor concerts events on the Costa del Sol. Supported and promoted by Fuengirola Town Hall, it presents a series of about 36 concerts that includes classical, rock, flamenco, rap, indie and pop music.
Most concerts are now held on large stage called Escenario Unicaja Banco in the gardens just outside the Castle of Sohail. This comprises of Front and General standing (or seated for some events) areas and the 28 row grandstand for 2.500 spectators. At the front of the grandstand at 18 six-person VIP boxes.
Concerts billed as Escenario Fundacion Unicaja are held in the more intimate surrounds for about 1.150 seated within the Castle of Sohail walls themselves.
Marenostrum, which first saw the light in 2016, attracts international stars including Monica Naranjo, Robbie Williams, Miguel Poveda, Ara Malikian, Hombres G, Alejandro Sanz, Vicente Amigo and Niña Pastori, Sting, Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana, Robbie Williams, Ricky Martín, UB40, Jennifer Lopez, Bonnie Tyle and Lionel Richie as well as numerious Spanish stars.
The three-month festival has grown to almost 6 months and is more of a series of summer concerts than a 'festival' in the true sense of the word. It also incorporates several mini day festivals, such as the Fulanita Fest. In previous years this was more prevelant including the Sohail Jazz Festival, Bombastic Costa del Sol, and Locos por la Musica, Festival of Cabaret, and Anfitrión.
The venue offers accessibility for people with mobility restrictions.

About the Artists 2026
El Último de la Fila
El Último de la Fila is a Spanish rock/pop band that formed in Barcelona in 1985. The group released a total of seven full-length albums before disbanding in January 1998. After an almost 30-year hiatus, in 2025 the band announced that they were to reform in order to undertake a Spanish tour in 2026. Ranked number 1 on Rolling Stone’s 50 ‘Greatest Spanish Rock Bands’, from 1988 to 1990 the group toured throughout Europe and the Americas.
In 1993, after completing another major tour across Spain, Europe, and South America, the group released its sixth album, Astronomía razonable. The record made history by becoming the first album by a Spanish band to remain at number one on the AFYVE sales chart for ten consecutive weeks.
Fito y Fitipaldis
Described as one of the most influential rock groups in the Spanish music industry, Fito y Fitipaldis is a rock and roll band formed in 1997 by singer and musician Fito Cabrales. The band has enjoyed continued success since then, receiving a Diamond Disc in 2007 for selling more than one million records, and by mid-2022, sales had exceeded two million. Fito y Fitipaldis also became the Spanish band with the highest attendance, drawing nearly 330,000 people to 27 concerts in 2022.
The band explores genres such as rockabilly, rhythm and blues, swing, jazz and rock.
Camela
Pioneers of a style known as techno-rumba, Camela is a Spanish musical group formed in Madrid in 1994. The band began to receive commercial success after signing with the AR record label, which produced their first studio album, Lágrimas de Amor. The music blends flamenco-inspired vocal styles with pop song structures, with the main accompaniment being synthesisers and techno rhythms.
The band has continued to tour and release new music, with their most recent album, Que la música te acompañe, arriving in 2022. However, they experienced a certain level of exclusion from the wider music industry. Even so, numerous professionals recognised the immense potential of this musical style from the outset, contributing to the band’s sales of over nine million records.
Paco Candela
Born in Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville, in 1971, Paco Candela is a flamenco singer famed for his powerful voice and emotional performances of traditional styles such as fandangos, tangos and peteneras, along with lighter styles like the sevillanas and rumbas. His songs focus on Andalusian traditions like folklore, horses, country life love and family, which has made him one of the most popular singers among the younger fans of this genre.
He began singing at an early age, joining a local troupe called Grupo de Danza de San Ildefonso, and since then he has dedicated himself tirelessly to his art. In the early stages of his career, he took part in numerous flamenco competitions, where his vocal talent and deeply emotional performances earned him many awards. These successes gave him valuable exposure and helped him establish a reputation in the flamenco world, leading to performances at summer festivals and in flamenco peñas across Spain.
A major turning point in his career occurred in 2006 with the release of his debut album, Un sueño hecho realidad (A Dream Come True). The album was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, positioning Candela as one of the most promising emerging voices in the flamenco scene. Since then, his discography has expanded with numerous albums that encompass a broad variety of flamenco styles, the most recent being Corazón de Plástico (Plastic Heart) in 2023.
Medina Azahara
Founded in Córdoba in 1979, Medina Azahara emerged as a key part of the Andalusian rock scene of the 1980s, drawing inspiration from bands such as Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Triana and Uriah Heep. Over time, their music evolved toward a melodic heavy metal style infused with neoclassical elements. The band’s lineup has undergone several changes over the years, yet they continue to record and tour across Spain, with frontman Manuel Martínez remaining the sole original member.
Raule
An independent musician composer and singer from Jerez de la Frontera (b. 1984), Raúle (Raúl Rubiale) fuses flamenco, light rock and funk music to create his distinctive Latin pop sound. He began singing in local groups in Jerez, although it was in 2017 when, after several years writing songs and sharing them on social networks, he released his first solo album, Sin Protocol, on which he collaborated with several established Spanish musicians. During the confinement in 2020, Raule used social media platforms to launch the single, La habitación prohibida, which has so far received over five million views. Other headline songs are ‘Cómo no te voy a querer’, ‘Yo quiero una vida contigo’, ‘Cruje la cama’ and Niño salvaje’.
Fulanita Fest
This all-female festival has established itself as an important music event, not only for its artistic offerings, but also for its strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and female talent. The fifth edition presents Fangoria, fronted by iconic singer Alaska, and Chanel, a Cuban-Spanish singer, actress and dancer who represented Spain in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest.
Siempre Así
Siempre Así is a vocal group from Seville with over three decades of history, during which time they have sold around one million records and performed concerts all over Spain and Latin America. Their music is pop‑flamenco and pop with influences of rumba and Andalusian folk music, characterised by vocal harmonies and rhythms that reflect the musical tradition of southern Spain.
The group was formed by a group of youngsters who were part of the choir of the brotherhood of El Rocío de Triana. They chose their name (which means ‘always like this’ in English) to symbolise that, no matter what happened, the group would always remain united. Throughout their career the group has performed for numerous celebrities and figures such as the Duchess of Alba for her third wedding in Seville in 2011. In 2023, the group received the medal of Andalucía for their contribution to Spanish music and culture.
Pablo Alborán
Born in Málaga in 1989, Pablo Alborán is a Spanish singer-songwriter, who, since his debut in 2010, he has received twenty-four Latin Grammy Award nominations, three in 2011. He has released six studio and two live albums and thirty-four singles, featuring a mixture of ballads, light flamenco and Latin pop. He began his artistic journey performing flamenco in a restaurant in Málaga and gained national recognition after uploading videos of himself singing on YouTube, the first of which garnered over two million views on the channel. He is currently one of the most popular pop artists in Spain and the Spanish-speaking world. His debut single, Solamente tú, became a big hit in Spain and helped launch his first album, which debuted at number 1 on the Spanish charts.

Ignatius Farray is a Spanish stand-up comedian and actor known for his absurd sense of humour.
This is Michael
Performed by Brazilian dancer/singer Lenny Jay, this show, as its name suggests, is a tribute to the King of Pop and will include most of Michael Jackson’s most celebrated hits. This international production is part of his current world tour, which revives the magic of one of the most influential artists of all time.
Dani Martín
Born in Madrid in 1977, Dani Martín is a Spanish singer and former vocalist of the rock-pop band El Canto del Loco. The singer, whose music encompasses a wide range of genres, from pop and rock to intimate ballads, is renowned for his versatility and his ability to connect emotionally with his audience. His performance in Fuengirola is part of his current European tour.
Salva Reina (La Cochera Comedy)
Salva Reina is a Spanish actor and stand-up comedian from Pizarra, Málaga.
Aitana
Aitana Ocaña Morales will visit the Fuengirola venue for the third time as part of her current Cuarto Azul tour to promote her latest CD of the same name (2025). Popular for her energetic Latin-pop and dance music, her performance at Marenostrum Fuengirola in 2022 drew 12,000 fans. Born in Madrid in 1999, she rose to fame after competing in the television talent show Operación Triumfo (2017), in which she secured second place. She has since released four studio albums with Universal Music, all of which have reached platinum certification.
Manu Sánchez (La Cochera Comedy)
Manu Sánchez is a Sevillian comedian and television presenter.
Romeo Santos & Prince Royce
Born in New York in 1981, Anthony Santos, known artistically as Romeo Santos, is considered the King of Bachata, especially in Latin America. He was the vocalist and main song writer of the Dominican band Aventura, a group that was key in popularising the bachata internationally. Geoffrey Royce Rojas de León – Prince Royce - is an American singer born in the Bronx in 1989. He began writing poetry while in his teens, a hobby that would later evolve into songwriting. He is known mainly for blending pop and rhythm and blues with modern bachata music, making his music accessible to mainstream audiences.
La Oreja de Van Gogh
The 5 piece pop group from San Sebastian, north Spain, have had over 20 years of success throughout their musical career, selling more than 8 million albums globally. La Oreja de Van Gogh is one of Spain’s most renowned musical exports, with eight studio albums under their belt. Over the past two decades, the band has changed its members and been fronted by two different vocalists; Amaia Montero from 1996 until 2008, and Leire Martinez from 2008 til today.
The group has received multiple accolades including the Best Pop Album award at the Latin Grammys, MTV International’s Best Spanish Artist, and 10 million monthly listeners on the music streaming giant Spotify.
El Monaguillo (La Cochera Comedy)
Sergio Fernández Meléndez - El Monaguillo is a comedian and television presenter born in Marbella, Malaga, in 1973.
Pablo López
Born in Fuengirola in 1984, Pablo López is a singer/composer and pianist who achieved national fame after coming second in the sixth edition of the Spanish reality music show, Operación Triunfo.
His music is categorised as melodic pop, although he has been classically trained and is competent in styles as diverse as chamber music to rock.
His musical career began at the age of 17, when he performed at hotels along the Costa del Sol, although he took time out and headed to London, where he enjoyed busking on the London Underground.
He has since recorded several albums, and was named ‘Best Breakthrough Artiste’ in 2013, as well being awarded ‘Song of the Year’ in 2016 for Tu Enemigo.
Dani Fernández
Currently in the middle of his La Insurrección tour, which takes in most of the major cities and towns in Spain, Dani Fernández is a Spanish singer best known as a former member of the boy band Auryn. After the group's breakup in 2016, the Latin pop singer launched his solo career, releasing his debut album, Incendio, in 2019, which reached number two on the official Spanish album charts in its first week.
La Reina del Flow
La Reina del Flow is a Colombian musical group that emerged from the television series of the same name. The group, currently on a tour of Spain, offer a stage production of the music (reggaeton) of the hit Netflix series, based on a musical love story.
Sting
Former Police frontman, Sting, makes a welcome return to Southern Spain this year, stopping off in Fuegirola during his current world tour. His performance at the Icónica Fest was one of several Spanish dates, along with other concerts in Cádiz and Granada. The 17-time Grammy Award-winning artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his fifth solo album, Mercury Falling, which reached the top 10 in 18 countries in 1996.
Alejandro Sanz
Born in Madrid in 1968 (although with roots in Andalucía), Alejandro Sanz is one of the most famous Spanish singers and songwriters of the last few decades. Known for blending flamenco, pop, rock and Latin music, the multi-award-winning artiste reached global popularity with his 1997 album ‘Más’, which became one of the best-selling albums in Spanish music history. He is celebrated for his distinctive raspy vocals, which he attributes to his flamenco roots, crediting singer Camarón de la Isla as a major influence.
Los Delinqüentes
Los Delinqüentes are an Andalusian band that fuses festive flamenco styles with rock, blues, reggae and funk that formed in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, in 1998. Founding member Miguel Benítez died of a heart attack at the age of 21 in 2004, although the band continued recording and performing until they separated in 2012 to pursue solo musical projects. The band reformed in February 2025 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album (El sentimiento garrapatero que nos traen las flores), hailed as an “essential work of contemporary popular music”. The band are currently touring Spain, with concerts in Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Bilbao, Murcia, Zaragoza, Seville, Cádiz and Málaga, The presence of Miguel Benítez will be very much felt throughout this tour, as his image and voice will be projected on a giant screen above the stage, singing in sync with the rest of the band.
Operación Triunfo
Operación Triunfo, the music competition known for discovering an array of Spain’s top national stars, is returning on tour with its 2025 contestants. The show presents performances by 16 artistes offering a varied range of musical styles.
Hombres G
Hombres G is a Spanish pop band founded in Madrid in 1982 and who later achieved international recognition, primarily in Latin America. The four-piece group, famed for songs classed as the soundtracks to teenage life in 1980s Spain, has since released thirteen studio albums and clocked up over 20 million record sales worldwide. Their music blends catchy pop melodies, light rock instrumentation and youthful lyrics influenced by British and American pop-rock of the late 70s and 80s.
Vibras
Vibras is a one-day summer event focused on Latin, urban and dance music and beach vibes that is a regular part of the Marenostrum cycle. This year’s edition presents Nicky Jam, one of today’s top reggaeton stars; Argentine pop singer María Becerra; and Kapo, a Latin urban artist gaining popularity with Afro-Latin and reggaeton style music.
Underworld
A techno, dance and electronic music event featuring DJ Sven Väth and Bonobo, an English musician, producer and DJ based in Los Angeles.
Gypsy Kings
Gipsy Kings bring Catalan flair to the Starlite Festival this summer with their blend of rumba, flamenco, salsa and pop. The group of travelling musicians formed in Arles, France, in 1979, born to gitano parents, Spanish Romanis who fled Spain in the 30s during the Civil War. They are known for adding a Catalin twist to their covers of popular English-language songs - including their 1987 track “A Mi Manera”, a cover of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”. Other covers include Bob Marley’s “One Love” which they collaborated on with the famed reggae singer’s son Ziggy. Collectively, they have globalised rumba and flamenco music and found real success with their self titled 1987 album, which was one of few Spanish-language albums to spend 40 weeks in the US charts.
Alejandro Astola
Born in Seville in 1990, Alejandro Astola is a singer/songwriter who fuses traditional flamenco with rock, funk and jazz. Considered an ‘underground flamenco’ artiste, he released his debut album in 2015 (Rockallano), on which he explored a new sound characterised by the fusion of styles with flamenco and live performance.
Antonio Orozco
Antonio Orozco was born in Barcelona in 1972 and is celebrated for his mixture of pop ballads, flamenco and rock music. With over 1.5 million records sold globally, he has performed over 2,500 concerts in Spain, Europe and Latin America. After relocating to Seville, he began playing flamenco guitar as a hobby, but his talent as a songwriter soon surfaced. He released his debut album (Un reloj y una vela) in 2000, which sold over 100,000 copies and secured his place among the country’s top singer/songwriters. Since 2013, he has participated as a coach in the Spanish television talent series La Voz.
Mago Orbit – Acero 2.0
A large-scale Las Vegas-style family magic and illusion show performed by Mago Orbit, a professional illusionist who merges engineering, emotion and spectacle to create large-scale visual magic.
Luna Sur Tardeo
Indie-music festival featuring Ultraligera, an alternative rock band formed in Madrid in 2021 that perform a style of music ranging from grunge to indie rock and post-punk revival; Madrid indie rock and power-pop band La La love You; Asturian band Puño Dragón, who combine the raw energy of traditional rock with more contemporary music; and Basque new wave singer-songwriter Paula Mattheus.
Galván Real
Oscar Espinosa Castillo, artistically known as Galvan Real, is a singer, composer and producer who was born in Valencia in 1992. He was influenced by flamenco during his early years, and at the age of eight, he took his first steps into what would become a career in music when he began to sing flamenco.
By the time he was 20, he had been completely engulfed by his passion for music and he began to compose and record his own songs, which have an urban flamenco feel. It was at this stage that he started to use his pseudonym, and he quickly began to attract a large fanbase on social media. He music is part of a new wave of urban music that mixes Latin and urban sounds without losing the flamenco essence, which is the root of Galvan Real’s style.
La Plazuela
La Plazuela is a Granada duo that fuses flamenco, pop, funk and electronic music that formed in 2019 and who are inspired by Manzanita, Los Chicos and Pata Negra. The group began their musical career in 2019 and have since released several recordings and toured extensively throughout Spain.
They have gradually carved a niche in the competitive Spanish music scene, championing Andalusian folklore and traditional Gypsy-style compositions.
Cantajuego
The show Cantajuego is created by specialists in psychomotor development, entertainment and psychoeducational activities. Designed for children, it combines music and movement to encourage imagination and creativity while helping develop rhythm, voice, coordination, gestures and overall body expression. This lively musical performance is full of songs and magic, starring El Payaso Tallarín and his troupe - a cheerful group of mischievous clowns.
Sun & Thunder Fest
Over three days, around 20 bands will perform at the Sun and Thunder festival, an event that offers today's best national and international heavy metal bands. Among some of the most well-known are Primal Fear, a band from Germany that has achieved success as the county’s heavy metal pioneers, and whose style is inspired by British bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest; British heavy rock band Calva Louise, who have toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and the USA; and Harakiri for the Sky, an Austrian post-black-metal band who are currently touring Spain.
Apulanta
Founded in 1991, Apulanta is an iconic Finnish rock band whose name means 'artificial fertilizer’. The group formed by two guitarist friends in 1991 and have gained a following for their high-alternative metal that combines elements of heavy metal with genres such as hip-hop, funk and grunge.
