We find the handsome young Sevillian on set to film the second series of TV drama, Hispania, La Leyenda (The Legend of Spain). He plays Marco, the first-in-command to the Roman Praetor Galba, whose character is played by Lluis Omar. Olmedo’s last major role on the big screen was in Jose Luis Alema’s film La Sombra Perdida  (The Lost Shadow), released in January.

Andalucia.Com: How are you feeling about filming of second series of The Legend of Spain?

Jesus Olmedo: I’m really up for it!  I’ve recharged my batteries and I’m very focused.

AC: As an actor, what do you bring to your character in this series?

JO: It’s a great change in direction for me and I’m really enjoying it.  Being the bad guy really appeals to me.  I’ve also been lucky because the character isn’t your stereotypical one-dimensional character, but is full of nuances.

AC: What’s your favourite thing about being an actor?

JO:  Being able to do things that I couldn’t normally.

AC: And your least favourite?

JO: Early mornings.

AC: What’s your ultimate goal as an actor, how far would you like to go?

JO: I prefer to enjoy the journey, rather than setting myself goals along the way.

AC: When it comes to acting, do you draw inspiration from any established names?

JO: To be honest, no.

AC: What other profession would you have chosen, if you hadn’t been an actor?

JO: Maybe a doctor, a surgeon.  Being able to save lives seems like a great ability.

AC: What’s the most important thing for you in life?
