Los Alamos Beach Festival, Estepona

Electronic music and dance festival. First edition of this modern dance festival was in 2015 when 20.000 attended at Los Alimos beach in Torremolinos. The festival grew in popularity up to 2017 when the festival outgrew the the site of the popular resort town of Torremolinos  (Malaga).

Sausages

The pigs of Andalucia also contribute to the making of sausages, with red chorizo and black morcilla being the best-known. The villages in the vicinity of Ronda and Antequera (Málaga) are renowned for their sausages. Sausages, along with pulses, potatoes and vegetables go into hearty stews and soups that are winter fare.

Kitesurfing - Strapless

The International Strapless Kitesurfing Pro Tour,  organised by the Global Kitesurf Association (GKA)   held the  Tarifa Strapless Pro, from the 28 June to 2nd July 2017 at Playa de Valdevaqueras. This was the first event of the 2017 GKA Kite-Surf World.  This was the third year the event has taken place at Valdevaqueras, Tarifa with a final on the first Sunday in July.  The event is one of the better organised and resourced in Tarifa and the backing from Town Hall, Cadiz province and Regional government must have helped. 

Fuente de Piedra

The village of Fuente de Piedra (with a population of approximately 2,000) is close to the Natural park and lake; Laguna de Fuente de Piedra. Due to the presence of the lake, it seems that man has been in this area since prehistoric times. Later, commercial links were maintained with the Phoenicians and the Carthaginians. During Roman times, the lake was named "Fons Divinus" or divine spring, due to the medicinal properties of the water.

Castillo El Castillejo

Also known as Castillo de Ciscarejo, the castle is now an important archaeological site evidencing different phases of the town’s historical occupation. It is important to know the organization of the Andarax Valley and more so considering its proximity to the chalcolithic deposit of Los Millares.

Huelva - Lamb Stew

Place the lamb in a stew pot with the ham bone, tomato, onion, pepper, garlic, parsley, mint, bay leaves, salt and pepper and wine. Add enough water to just cover the meat. Bring to a boil, then simmer, covered, until the meat is tender. Skim out the meat onto a serving dish. Purée the liquid, discarding the tomato skin and herbs.

Iglesia Parroquial de San Agustín

The first church in Lobras was destroyed in the mid-sixteenth century and had to be rebuilt amid the difficulties of the Moorish rebellion. The oldest element is the tower, which is attached to the small main chapel.

Northern Málaga Province

Only around 50km northwest of Malaga is some surprisingly rugged landscape with a dramatic gorge, several immense reservoirs and a scattering of Moorish towns and villages with intriguing histories. Also here is one of the most impressive limestone landscapes in Europe, the Torcal de Antequera Natural Area.

Sailing Courses

In ports all along the coast of Andalucía sailing classes are typically offered through the port's club, or members' association. As courses are often sold as a package involving a certain number of hours/weeks, these are best reserved only for an extended holiday.

Ermita de la Virgen de la Cabeza

The chapel offers the best viewpoint in the region, and has become a key destination for pilgrims and hikers alike. Located on the summit of Monteagud, a reference point throughout the region for geographical and religious orientation. Located north of Uleila del Campo, off the A-1100.

Beach at La Reserva Club Sotogrande

Located in the La Reserva area of Sotogrande Alta near the La Reserva Golf Club House,  the Beach Club  features a unique artificial 2.800 m2 beach and  sandy based artificial lagoon,  combined with a 17.000 m2 water-sports lagoon set in a natural hollow in Sotogrande hillside.

Iglesia de Santa Cruz

The church stands out from the rest of the town thanks to the ochre colour of its tiles and the brickwork of its walls. It dates back to 1501, when the parish was attached to that of Capileira de Poqueira. On 15 October that year, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, Archbishop of Seville, canonically established the original parish of Pampaneira alongside 44 others in the Alpujarra Tahas.

Alameda

This small town of barely 5,000 inhabitants north-west of Antequera is probably most famous for its cadaverous celebrity El Tempranillo, the legendary 19th century bandit born in nearby Jauja and buried in Alameda's Iglesía de la Purísima Concepción church. The so-called Principe de la Sierra, prince of the mountains, is the most colourful of Andalucía's many bandit heroes.

La Cañada in Marbella

Along with the sun, sea and sand attracting people to Marbella and the Costa del Sol, ‘La Cañada' shopping centre is another huge attraction for tourists and inhabitants alike. It was built by ‘General de Galerías Comerciales'.

La Almazara

A family oil mill that began its activity around 1920 and was in operation until 1970. The mill belonged to Maria Martinez and Isabel Martinez. Many residents of the municipality used the mill to press their locally grown olives to make their annual supply of oil.
