We are committed to updating our pages as regularly as possible, allocating over half of our editorial resources to this essential task, to ensure that you can always find the latest, most reliable information on popular topics and places.

Here is a list with the latest pages that have been updated or created. Most recent are at the top of the list.

Translators

Every year Andalucía welcomes thousands of tourists, business people and new residents from other countries. Although many have a good understanding of the Spanish language, at one time or another they will usually all need the services of either a translator, who converts the written word of one language into another, or an interpreter who does the same with the spoken word.

Torre Nazarí

The Nazarí Tower of Santa Fe de Mondújar dates to somewhere between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. It is a fortress tower or watchtower built for surveillance of the territory and defense from enemy attacks.

Sombre Orchid – Ophrys fusca

This orchid's common name, the sombre or dull orchid, doesn't really describe this particular species of bee orchid very well. It is extremely variable in colour, and the species was divided into many sub-species. Some of these have now been separated into distinct species, for example, the Atlantic orchid, Ophrys atlantica. Many individuals are very colourful indeed.

A characteristic of all bee orchids is that the main leaves form a basal rosette, with a few oblong or lanceolate stem leaves.

Plane Spotting

Welcome, plane spotters! Málaga Airport is an especially spotter-friendly airport. An active group of spotters meet regularly at various locations around the airport, tuning in to radio frequencies to monitor flight activity and thus get the best photos of the greatest take offs and landings in the area.

Peggy Sue's

The lovers of rock and roll should visit Peggy Sue's, which, as the name might suggest, is a small shrine to the swinging 60s. This American themed music bar is adorned with all the trimmings of the rock and roll era, including walls lied with nostalgic pictures of some of the greatest stars of the genre.

History of Cáñar

At the beginning of the Muslim occupation, Cáñar was known as Gebel, and with the administrative division of La Alpujarra it was included within the Taha de Órgiva. After the conquest of Granada and falling into Christian hands, the population was gradually subjected to a pressure that became intolerable. This was followed by the insurrection, led by Abén Humeya.

The Consumers' Office

Every municipality in Spain has a public office dedicated to informing you, the consumer, regarding your rights and responsibilities in the case you should have any doubts. The offices are known as "OMIC", which stands for "Oficina Municipal de Información al Consumidor". Ask at the town hall to find out where yours is located.

Iglesia Parroquial de San Pedro Ad víncula

The completion of this parish church, dedicated San Pedro Ad Víncula, was continuously postponed until well into the nineteenth century owing to a trinity of local limitations; the absence of political autonomy, the inexistence of local nobility or bourgeoisie and the lack of economic resources.

Estepona Mural - Desde el Mar

Desde el Mar (from the sea) is a 200 m2 mural by José Fernández Ríos painted on the Instituto Monterroso (Monterroso Secondary School).

It is a hyperrealist architectural optical illusion. You can see a porch and a marine background with elements from the crest of Estepona. These are the sea, fishing boats, Sierra Bermeja and watchtowers. The mural can be seen from two different perspectives.

The Truth about Tapas

Granada is one of the last towns in Spain where you still get a free tapa with every glass of wine or beer. We have our earliest record of this marvellous tradition from King Alfonso 10th "El Sabio" (whose wisdom extended also to music and poetry, as lovers of the cantigas de Santa Maria are well aware).

Festivals in Osuna

Festivals in Osuna: Cabalgata de Reyes Magos, San Arcadio, Carnaval, Semana Santa, Feria de Mayo, Nuestra Señora de la Consolación and Romería de Nuestra Señora de la Consolación.

Iglesia de la Encarnación

The church was built on the site of an early mosque between 1555 and 1560. This mosque was later destroyed by the Moors and its reconstruction was delayed until 1603.

Scream

Situated in the heart of Puerto Banus, on the second line, this club is a must for lovers of loud music. As the name suggests it is a lively and often raucous venue, and Scream attracts a predominantly young crowd. Dance music booms out until the early hours of the morning, and many guest DJs take to the decks during the summer time. Opened in 1995.

Colegio Miguel de Cervantes

Built in 1928, the Miguel de Cervantes School is rectangular in layout, clad in exposed brick and has two recesses and twenty-four classrooms. Cervantes was in Lopera between February 22 and 25, 1592, in order to collect wheat and barley for the Invincible Armada.

Malaga Airport - Transfers

In the summer months you may have to wait a long time for a taxi – up to an hour perhaps. This is not very comfortable – especially with small kids or after a long flight when your&quo;re tired and just want to get to your destination ASAP. Have you heard of taking a transfer? Transfers are a popular way to handle airport journeys with the least hassle and the greatest comfort.

Lavadero Antiguo

The original washing area was constructed alongside the irrigation ditch.

Monda

Monda is a tiny town (or large village) in the mountains just inland from the Costa del Sol. Situated past Ojén on the A-355, it lies a mountain valley at 365m and has a population of less than 2,000. It is well-linked by road with Marbella, just 15km away, as well as Coin and Cartama (for Malaga). Thanks to development on the nearby coast over the last few decades, the town has enjoyed new prosperity.
