Torrox Costa - Hotels

Torrox, like many other towns along the Costa Del Sol, is split into two parts - Torrox Costa (on the coast) and Torrox Pueblo (further inland). Torrox Costa is a popular holiday destination for tourists and is home to a number of expats. As expected, a large range of hotels and apartments can be found here due to its proximity to the beach and La Caleta pleasure port. It also boasts the 'best climate in Europe' and catches the sun all year round.

Torre del Mar is a resort town located on the Costa del Sol, between Málaga and Nerja. It has no shortage when it comes to hotels and accommodation. The town has a wide selection of places to stay ranging from larger, resort-style hotels offering all inclusive packages, to smaller, cheap hotels and hostals with more of a ´homely´ feel to them.

Acuario de Sevilla: Seville Aquarium

The aquarium is themed around the voyage of Ferdinand Magellan, 1519-1522, which was the first ever circumnavigation of the globe. Your journey will take you from the Guadalquivir river, across the Atlantic Ocean, up the Amazon and over to the Pacific.

Puerto de la Duquesa is one of the Costa del Sol's marinas that is enjoyed by sailors and tourists alike. Located one hour's drive from the airport of Malaga and 45 minutes form Gibraltar airport. La Duquesa seems like a thousand miles away from the throng of the holiday resorts.

Hotels in Nerja

Nerja is situated at the eastern tip of the Costa Del Sol, 50km away from Málaga. It is a picturesque fishing town which has done very well in avoiding the construction of concrete high-rise buildings which crowd some of the other coastal resorts in this area of Spain.

Just seven kilometres north of Nerja is the typical pueblo blanco of Frigiliana which sits high on a mountain ridge overlooking the sea with spectacular panoramic views. it is often voted the 'prettiest village in Andalucía'.

Cathedral de la Encarnacion, Almeria

This fortified behemoth of a basilica was designed in the 16th century with a dual role: as a place of worship, but also to protect the citizens when pirates attacked the city of Almeria after the Reconquest. Built in 1524, after an earthquake destroyed the previous structure, the cathedral is constructed, like so many churches in Spain, on the site of a mosque.

Catedral de la Asunción de la Virgen, Jaen

Like most Andalusian cathedrals, the primitive cathedral of Jaén was created from a  former Muslim mosque. In the year 1492,  under the Bishopric of Don Luis de Osorio, work on a new church began by, Pedro López, with the help of Enrique Egas.

Catedral de la Merced, Huelva

The Iglesia de la Merced used to serve as the church of the neighbouring convent, the Convento de la Merced, and was designated a cathedral in 1953. It is one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in Huelva province, with a striking pink exterior and a bright white marble interior. It dominates the Plaza de la Merced, an elegant square lined with tall palm trees.

La Rinconada

La Rinconada has one of the biggest rose farms in the world and it is worth visiting its casco antiguo (old town), with its cobbled, winding streets and beautiful houses whose facades are decorated with flowers. It has about 38, 200 inhabitants.

Peñaflor

Peñaflor is located at the north east border of the province of Seville. Visitors to the town should pass by the eighteenth century, Iglesia de San Pedro, which has some beautiful neoclassical altarpieces and gold work. It has about 3600 inhabitants.

La Algaba

La Algaba offers a great highlight during its festival in September; the Feria de los Toros that has been declared of National Tourist Interest. It has about 16, 200 inhabitants.

Benahavis attracts a vast number of tourists during the summer season due to its beauty and close proximity to Marbella, Puerto Banus and Málaga.The town has a deep history dating back to the Moorish era and some of the old architecture is still visible to this day.

Almaden de la Plata

Almadén de la Plata is set within the Comarca Sierra Norte area of Seville province, to the west of Cazalla de la Sierra. It has about 1,500 inhabitants.

Cantillana

Cantillana holds an annual popular and well-known festival known as Fiesta de la Divina Pastora that has been declared of interest to tourists. It has about 10,800 inhabitants.
