Villaverde del Río

Villaverde del Río sits to the right of the River Guadalquivir and also has the Siete Arroyos River on its eastern side. An ideal location for tranquillity with nature. It has about 7700 inhabitants.

Formed in 2007, the UPYD is a social liberal party that rejects nationalism in all forms and wants to adopt a system of symmetric federalism with political centralization as a territorial model. The ‘Union' in their name represents the union of Spain, the ‘progressive' is their view of individual freedom, and the ‘Democracy' is their belief in radical democracy.

Costa de la Luz Property

The Costa de la Luz is one of Andalucia’s lesser developed, more rugged and natural coastlines. Rural coastal properties and inland country estates complement vast expanses of untouched beaches. Fishing villages, luxury developments like Sotogrande, trendy hang outs like Tarifa, and the provincial capital of Cádiz all provide shopping, business, recreation and cultural opportunities.

El Cable Ingles

An extraordinary piece of industrial heritage, this railway pier was the loading bay for the mines in Alquife (Granada), which produced iron ore, copper and silver. Its continuing survival despite over 100 years­­­­' constant exposure to the corroding effects of saltwater, is testament to the quality of construction. As well as El Cable Ingles, the pier is also known as El Alquife.

Ermita de San Blas

Built in the late 18th century on the outskirts of town along the Camino Real (now Calle Albayzín), the chapel sat on the route from Granada to the Alpujarra region. During the reign of Queen Isabel II in the mid-19th century, a new carriage road (Avenida del Sur GR-9067) was constructed behind the chapel.

San Luis Castle, Estepona

There is little left to see of the great castle which once stood at the heart of Estepona, and what remains is not now readily apparent, but it is possible to trace the ruins around the high ground. Its construction followed the seizing of the town in 1457 by Enrique IV. He also built new defensive towers along the coast.

Lahiguera

Plaza de la Merced

Plaza de la Merced is one of the best squares to visit in Malaga. Located at the top end of Calle Granada which is the minor (but none less interesting) continuation of major Calle Llarios at Plaza de la Constitution. The square is a popular meeting place in the evening and open air events take place here from time to time.

Bar Flores

Probably the town's oldest tapas bar, and one of the smallest, is Bar Flores, which first opened its doors during the 1940s. This symbolic tavern is situated in the centre of Torremolinos and offers customers a slice of times gone by.

The Carmelite Convent, Ronda

Walk up the hill from the bullring, and you will soon find yourself at the foot of a wide flight of stone steps leading to the imposing wooden doors of the Merced Carmelite Convent. The first Carmelites were male hermits, former pilgrims and crusaders who gathered together in 1155 AD at Mount Carmel in Palestine, close by the fountain of Elijah, and dedicated themselves to a life of austerity, poverty and prayer.

TIE Residence Cards

The Royal Decree 240/2007 requires that everybody planning to reside in Spain for more than six months should obtain a Residence Certificate or Card at the local Oficina de Extranjeros.  The TIE card is issued to Non-EU foreigners legally resident in Spain, hence it is a useful document to have to prove your status.
