Muelle de las Carabelas

Muelle de las Carabelas (Warf of the Caravels) is a waterfront exhibition with life-size replicas of Columbus's three ships: the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa María, built for the 500th anniversary celebrations. The construction of Muelle de las Carabelas was carried out by architect, Pluvio Fernández Heredia, and inaugurated on 15 March 1994.

Las Gabias

This village is the perfect destination for lovers of archaeology and sports such as horse riding, golf or sport shooting. Las Gabias is made up of many small villages, including Gabia Grande and Gabia Chica. It is a modern village with a rich history of the different civilisations and cultures that have lived there over the years.

Dreambeach Festival 2017

Dreambeach 2013 was the first edition of Dreambeach. It took place from 10th to 15th August 2017. This was the longest festival yet. Six days Tuedsay to Sunday. The Sunday was a wind down with acts on the Camping stage. Total gate passes of the five stadium days were 175.000 which is about 35.000 atendees.

Vias Verdes

Spain´s Vías Verdes (railway paths) are one of Andalucia´s lesser known rural attractions and a great way to discover the countryside off the sometimes well-beaten track. In the 1960s the Spanish government drastically reduced its regional railway routes and closed down many train lines. Since the early 1990s, the government has been transforming these former railway lines into over 100 routes nationwide

Guadix and the East

Ayuntamiento

The Town Hall was built in 1927 on the site of the Casa del Concejo and the Pósito Municipal. Its construction was overseen by architect Joaquín Juncosa, following the typical models of regionalist architecture and the designs of Emilio Moreno Callejón. It was inaugurated on August 4, 1928, by Mayor Don José Garrido Paredes. It is one of the most emblematic buildings of the town; on the ground floor, the entrance stands out, with a portico forming a semicircular arch on pilasters and a beautiful one-piece white marble postern. The first floor has a continuous balcony, the second a flat gallery with footings on pillars and, on the sides, double windows with semicircular arches. The design culminates in the brick façade, with a clock and belfry. The clock was added in 1980, a copy with a daylighting of hours and half hours and a transparent dial; it was not built for this building, but for the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista. Located in Plaza de la Constitución.

El Puerto de Santa Maria

Like so many towns in Andalucía the approach to El Puerto de Santa María along the main road is lined with garages, industrial plants and run down buildings. Keep going and cross the River Guadalete on the NIV (if coming from south) and turn into Calle Ribiera de los Mariscos and park in one of the car parks signposted.
