A Storied History
The Puente Romano Tennis Club opened its doors in 1979 under the management of Björn Borg, a Swedish tennis legend and five-time Wimbledon champion. Borg brought his unparalleled expertise and vision to the club, setting the stage for it to become one of Europe’s premier tennis destinations. In 1988, the reins were passed to Spanish tennis icon Manolo Santana, a Wimbledon champion in 1966. Santana’s influence further solidified the club's reputation as a hub for excellence in the sport.
Over the years, the Puente Romano Tennis Club has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, including ATP and WTA events, drawing top players from around the world. The club has seen thrilling matches and unforgettable moments, establishing itself as a cherished venue in the global tennis community.

Facilities
The Puente Romano Tennis Club offers an array of outstanding facilities designed to meet the needs of players of all levels. The club boasts ten meticulously maintained courts, including eight clay courts and two hard courts, all equipped with floodlighting for evening play. Its centrepiece is the show court, with seating for over 2,500 spectators, which has hosted matches featuring some of the biggest names in tennis.
The academy, a cornerstone of the club, continues to develop emerging talent under the guidance of expert coaches. Whether for beginners or seasoned players, children or adults the academy provides tailored programs to develope skills and foster a love for the game.
Beyond tennis, the club’s fitness centre is equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, catering to a full spectrum of workout needs. Guests can unwind with a relaxing Turkish bath or indulge in a sports massage to rejuvenate their bodies. Lagom! Café is the vibrant restaurant at the Tennis Club of Puente Romano. Inspired by Rachel’s Eco Love, a renowned name in healthy and eco-friendly dining in Marbella, the café offers a delightful menu of colorful and nutritious dishes.
