THINGS TO SEE OUTSIDE THE TOWN
Eras Tradicionales
‘Threshing circles’, or eras, are normally circular surfaces paved with slate slabs. They are typically situated in areas where there is a strong wind, which makes it easier to separate the grain from the straw. The most notable threshing floors are those at Arriba, where the Fiesta de la Parva is celebrated, and at Cruzpiedra. The latter is located in a privileged spot with views of the Contraviesa and Sierra Lujar. On clear days, you can even see the Mediterranean Sea, part of the Cuenca del Río Trevélez, and the Taha de Pitres.
