Museo Etnológico (Rambla del Agua)
The Ethnological Museum displays all forms of life in La Rambla de Agua and other areas of the Sierra de Baza, along with utensils, clothing, tools from various occupations, photographs, and more, as unique examples of mountain culture. This museum emerged as a result of a Pedagogical and Cultural Innovation Project, approved by the Regional Government of Andalucía and in accordance with the objectives contemplated in the new organisation of the Education System.
The project began in 1990 with students from the José de Mora Institute in Baza, and later with second-year BUP students from the Pedro Antonio de Alarcón Secondary School in Guadix. The research continued until 1996. This has fostered a sense of responsibility, increased their knowledge of language, literature, and history, as well as broadening their fields of interest.
The interest and motivation of the project members has allowed them to gain information and knowledge about the customs, traditions, and ways of life in rural areas, long past the present, which have played a fundamental role in the evolution of culture and social relations. Over these years, teachers, students, and members of the Association have worked with great effort and enthusiasm. A file has been created for each object, on which the student has recorded their research, including a drawing and a photograph. This project was awarded by the Regional Government of Andalucía.
