La Atalayuela
La Atalayuela (Little Watchtower) is a visible, well-signposted archaeological site southeast of Zagra, containing an early-Medieval necropolis dating from approximately the 6th to 8th centuries AD.
The necropolis preserves twelve rock-cut graves, mainly rectangular or slightly trapezoidal in shape, with stepped edges to support the slabs that covered them. They are grouped in pairs and, in some cases, groups of three.
Next to it are the remains of a small settlement occupied between the 6th and 12th centuries. It is a recognised and studied archaeological site known since 1985.
