This village is made up of two area; Gualchos, an inland village with more typical Andalusian hotels and hostels, and Castell del Ferro which is located on the coast and situated close to other coastal towns like Torrenueva, in Motril, and Calahonda.
The area has not experienced the large flow of tourism like other coastal towns have, however, hotels and apartments are well maintained and in good condition nonetheless. Being only slightly inland, a hotel break in Gaulchos can offer the best of both worlds, from rolling countryside tranquility to the beautiful clean waters along the Costa Tropical.
