Centro Guadalinfo

Centro Guadalinfo

Guadalinfo is a network of public internet access centres, in which the Junta de Andalucía, Provincial Councils and Town Councils participate. The project aims to mobilize the 636 Andalusian municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants towards the Information Society. The centres have free broadband internet access with state-of-the-art computer equipment; workshops are carried out to promote basic digital literacy and break the digital divide. Guadalinex is used and free software is promoted. This Guadalinfo Centre was opened at the beginning of May 2005. In September 2006, it was inaugurated with the presence of the Government Delegate of the Junta in Jaén, the Provincial Deputy for Organization, Human Resources and New Technologies, the authorities of Torreblascopedro and all the representatives of the associations of the municipality. During the first two years of operation, more than 100 activities were hosted.
