The Fairmont Hacienda Costa del Sol opened on 20th February 2025 and is Fairmont's flagship five-star resort in Spain, located in Alcaidesa resort, San Roque, west of Sotogrande. Millennium Investment Partners announced back in January 2020 that they would invest 120m €  in this 21,000 m2 prime site in an elevated position with picture postcard views over the Alcaidesa Links golf course to the beach, the Meditarranean sea to Gibraltar and North Africa. The new hotel features contemporary Mediterranean indoor-outdoor architecture and Andalucian cuisine with 153 guest rooms (50m2 to 100m2) and suites (70m2 to 730m2) and 47 villas (600m2 to 1,200m2). A 1,800 m2 spa and wellness centre and a large banqueting hall opened in April. A beach-front beach club is also planned. The hotel has three restaurants; Dalmar is fine dining with an exquisite, almost oriental decor, headed by chef Benito Gomez, El Faro de la Hacienda serves breakfast lunch and dinner - Andalucian (and international cuisine). There are three swimming pools; a large outdoor pool, a heated outdoor pool and an indoor spa pool.
