Elegant period building with classy contemporary décor, full of character.
This small hotel is in an attractive restored 1850s mansion, right on Almeria’s cathedral square, located in the centre of the historic quarter. The neomudejar mansion has kept many of its original features, with high ceilings, sweeping staircases and chandeliers.
Décor is clean, classic-contemporary, with metallic-toned fabrics and futuristic Perspex chairs, as well as modern artworks. The 20 good-sized rooms and suites have beds with delicate curved metal details and stylish bathrooms featuring mosaic-tiled showers. Most rooms have large windows with wrought-iron balconies (some rooms overlook the Gothic-Renaissance cathedral and palm tree-lined square), making them light and airy.
On the roof terrace there is a plunge pool and a Jacuzzi, as well as sunbeds, with great views of the cathedral, city and Alcazaba. The restaurant serves imaginative Mediterranean dishes.
