Tarot consists of a deck of cards that is divided into a group of 22 "arcane" - or trump - cards and four suites of 14 minor cards each.
It is believed that the art of reading tarot cards developed in the courts of Northern Italy around the end of the 15th century. However, many insist the art goes much further back in history to the Greeks, Romans or Egyptians.
