Seven Estepona Watchtowers

There are about 100 different watchtowers (Torre Vigia or Torre Atalaya or Torre Almenara) along the coast of Southern Spain. Some are of Moorish origins others from date from the later Christian re-conquest period. All with the purpose of looking out for invaders from the South. They have lasted the centuries with remarkable strength.

WiFi and Hot Spots are easy to find in Andalucia. Described on a discussion about the then latest technology on Radio 4, the advent of WiFi was described as lying somewhere between 'Armageddon and Utopia'.

Airports

There are 9 international airports which serve as regional gateways. Five are located within Andalucia; Malaga, Seville, Almeria, Granada and Jerez, and four located just outside Andalucia; Gibraltar, Faro, Murcia, Alicante. There are also a number of privately operated airstrips which serve non scheduled private aircrafts.

Parque Nicolas Salmeron

This park is located between the port and city, running from Avenida Reina Regente (the lower end of Avenida Federico Garcia Lorca)in the east, to Puerta del Socorro and Avenida del Mar in the west.The park, named after the Almerian politician and President of the First Republic, is Almeria city's main green space.

Bus Service in Albondón

There are bus services from Albondón to Granada, Almería and Berchules using the company, ALSA.

Palacio de Mondragón

Ronda's loveliest enclosed space is the Mondragón palace, the heavily renovated and part-modernised remnants of what once was the palace of the Moorish ruler Abbel Mallek, or Abomelic, son of the king of Morocco. The palace is tiny, but much detail remains, in the Mudejar ceilings, some original tiling, and the balconied inner courtyards.

Yacimiento Arqueológico Los Millares

The archaeological site of Los Millares is a prehistoric settlement from the Copper Age (3200-2200 BC), comprising the ancient town and its necropolis with areas of 6 and 13 hectares respectively. Researchers and scientists demonstrated in 2020 that Los Millares was the first city established in the entire Iberian Peninsula more than 5,000 years ago.

Hotels in Ceuta

Hotel Ceuta Puerta de Africa is a hotel located right in the city centre, next to the Municipal Palace, 300 metres from the port and the heliport, near the shopping area and close to the beaches. It can accommodate 244 people in its 117 rooms and three suites.

Fuengirola Bus services

The bus station in Fuengirola is located in the town centre, on Calle Jacinto Benavente, just one road away from the train station. From here you can take buses along the Costa del Sol, west to Algeciras and east to Malaga.

Festivals in Cáñar

Popular festivals in Cáñar are Cabalgata de Reyes Magos, Fiestas de San Blas, Semana Santa, Fiestas de San Marcos, Romería de San Isidro, Corpus Christi, Hoguera de Santa Ana, Semana Cultural and Fiestas de Octubre (Feria Mayor en honor al Cristo de la Salud y la Virgen de la Esperanza).

The Banda Gallega is the name given to Middle Age fortifications in the north of present-day Sierra de Aracena. These were a line of castles along the border with Portugal, in the northwest of the former Kingdom of Seville.
