Museo Histórico Etnográfico

The Historical Ethnographic Museum was founded in 2002 by the Terque City Council and the Asociación de Amigos del Museo. It is located in one of the many nineteenth-century bourgeois houses in the town square. Following its rooms across two floors is a tour of local trades, many of them now disappeared, as well as domestic settings and religious.

Terque

Walking through the streets of Terque, visitors should look out for the bourgeois houses that were the product of mining in the Sierra de Gádor and the exportation of dessert grapes. It has about 370 inhabitants.The first cultural settlement of Terque is likely to have been prehistoric, evidenced by the millenary cave town found by the occupants of the Millares.

Niebla

The village of Niebla is located roughly 30km to the southeast of Huelva city and 60km from Seville on the shores of the río Tinto. It is located on plain land. With a population of roughly 4000 inhabitants, its relatively small number of inhabitants does not reflect the amount of beauty and archaeological heritage.

Metalwork

Metal crafts, and especially iron forging and copper and brass work have given Andalucia a special identity. Lucena, in the province of Cordoba, is Spain's centre for metal workers, and Seville is also highly regarded for its creative ironwork.

Jaen Conference Centres

There are two main conference centres in Jaen city. These are the Recinto de Ferias y Exposiciones de Jaen, Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones Hospital San Juan de Dios. A third is in the nearby town of Ubeda; Centro de Congresos Hospital de Santiago-Úbeda

Vícar

Villa de Vícar is situated in the southern foothills of the Sierra de Gádor. Belonging to one of the richest regions in Spain, most of the municipal area is dedicated to intensive greenhouse agriculture. The population of the municipality is divided into 13 separate nuclei; La Villa de Vícar, La Gangosa-Vistasol, Puebla de Vícar, Las Cabañuelas, Congo-Canal, Llanos de Vícar, Barrio de Archilla, El Parador, La Envía, Cañada Sebastiana.

Marbella Hill Club is located just below La Concha mountain, and was developed in the 1970s by Prince Ferdinand von Bismarck, great grandson of the Otto von Bismarck Otto (1 April 1815 – 30 July 1898), known as Otto von Bismarck the conservative Prussian statesman who dominated German and European affairs from the 1860s until 1890 and was the first Chancellor of the German Empire between 1871 and 1890.

Museo de Micología

Dólar has a Mycology Centre dedicated to the study and exhibition of fungi. It showcases the local biodiversity and mountain environment of the Sierra Nevada region.

Pedrera

Pedrera hosts one of Seville's most important carnivals. The special entierro de la sardina (burying of the sardine) is a pilgrimage towards the Cruz Sierra. The town has about 5,300 inhabitants.

Golf Valle del Este

Europe’s second desert course, opened in 2002, was designed by José Canales. The small, circular tees are raised, giving a good view of wide open fairways that have to be reached over the arid land in between, and the greens are ample with multiple pin positions. There are three par-5 holes. Plan well on the 3rd, a par-4, as the fairway bordered by water offers various strategic points.

History

Alquife has a long mining history, from the Bronze Age to modern times. Its iron mines shaped the local economy, and though activity declined in the late 20th century, the mines recently reopened.
