Sayalonga

Sayalonga is part of the Axarquia comarca and is situated near the natural parks of the Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama. It is also part of the Ruta del Sol y Del Vino, a route that passes through various towns of the comarca. As in the other white hill towns of the Axarquia, you'll notice Arabic influence here - the town is famous for its associations with El Cid and its nispera fruit.

This 100-metre wide beach gets its name from the Parador Hotel located here. Playa del Parador is located just a few kilometers from Mazagón along the A494 road but feels like a different world.

Golf News - Chesters storms ahead in Valderrama

Ashley Chesters finished his opening round with a flourish to open up a one-stroke lead on the weather-disrupted opening day of the Andalucía Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation.

The 28 year old Englishman fired back-to-back birdies at the 17th and 18th holes to record a five under par round of 66 and claim the clubhouse lead on a day when over four hours were lost because of bad weather.

Sierra de Yeguas

In Sierra de Yeguas, whose surroundings are very plain and agricultural, the most recognised monument is the 18th century Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción (Church of Immaculate Conception. This building sticks out through all the white houses with their beautifully latticed windows and doors. The archaeological sites in Sierra de Yeguas have revealed a very interesting story to the town.

The Osborne Bull

All it takes is a drive across Spain to see the legendary brandy advertisement that has become a symbol of Spanish culture both here at home and abroad. The Osborne Bull is the black silhouette of bull that stands on hilltops and along the roadside in many – but not all – parts of Spain.

Antiguo Hospital de San Juan de Dios

The large hospital was built in the fifteen century thanks to private donations and the patronage of the Municipal Council, the institution eventually became one of the longest-established Hospitals in the history of Spain, as well as the oldest in Jaén.
