Genalguacil - Encuentros de Arte 1998

A bi-annual event during the first two weeks in August on even years there is an art festival in Genalguacil called "Los Encuentros de Arte del Valle del Genal", and prize-winning works of art are created by 'Artists in residence' and placed on permanent public display throughout the village afterwards. Cadiz - Sea Bream Cadiz Style

Hurta a la Gaditana - Sea Bream, Cádiz Style. Hurta is the red-banded sea bream, typical of the Cádiz coasts, but any large sea bream (such as gilthead or red bream) could be used instead.

Wild Flowers - Cistus albidus

Cistus are often referred to as rock or sun roses because of their appearance and habitat.

This particular species, Cistus albidus, usually forms nice compact,woody, evergreenshrubs, growing to around 1m tall and 1m wide. It gets its common name from its soft-velvetystalkless leaves,which have a greyish-white appearance due to a fine covering of fine hairs on both surfaces of the leaf.

Sayalonga

Sayalonga is part of the Axarquia comarca and is situated near the natural parks of the Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama. It is also part of the Ruta del Sol y Del Vino, a route that passes through various towns of the comarca. As in the other white hill towns of the Axarquia, you'll notice Arabic influence here - the town is famous for its associations with El Cid and its nispera fruit.

Golf News - Chesters storms ahead in Valderrama

Ashley Chesters finished his opening round with a flourish to open up a one-stroke lead on the weather-disrupted opening day of the Andalucía Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation.

The 28 year old Englishman fired back-to-back birdies at the 17th and 18th holes to record a five under par round of 66 and claim the clubhouse lead on a day when over four hours were lost because of bad weather.
