Museo Etnográfico

The Albuñán Ethnographic Museum contains numerous antique pieces that evoke the history and cultural traditions of the town.

Iglesia de la Anunciación

Built in the sixteenth century, this Mudéjar-style single-nave church has a Latin cross floor plan and a coffered ceiling with geometric decorations.

Puente Califalf, Pinos Puente

The bridge, which is classified as a Caliphate bridge, has been designated a Site of Cultural Interest since 1922. While the exact date of its construction is unclear, the bridge has undergone various reconstructions and alterations over the centuries, suggesting that it may have been built during the Roman era (Fernández, 2013)

Santuario Cristo Del Paño

This is the former parish church of Santa María de la Encarnación, which was founded by the Catholic Monarchs. After being damaged during the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939), it was restored in the twentieth century and used as a church, service chapel and sacristy. The main chapel, designed by Martín Bolívar, was built in the mid-sixteenth century, and the rest of the nave was added later.

Casa del Posito

At the beginning of the Christian town stands the Casa del Pósito, a 16th-century public granary attributed to Pablo de Rojas. Located on Calle Mota.

History of Maracena

The village of Maracena dates back to the Roman era, when it was an agricultural village known as Maratius. In 1964, the remains of a Roman villa were discovered at Casería Titos. Among these remains were tiles, the remains of a hand mill and a pedestal bearing an epigraphic inscription in which a certain Publius Cornelius Callico dedicates a votive offering to the goddess Stata Matrem

Cueva Virués-Martínez

This cave, which was recently discovered, is notable for the exceptional state of preservation of its Neolithic funerary archaeological record.

Peligros

Peligros was very important during the Nasrid dynasty (13th-15th centuries) and for the first few years after the Christian re-conquest, supplying Granada City with many agricultural products. Today, it is home to families who work in the provincial capital. The town is located in the north of the Granada valley and is surrounded by orchards and groves.

Parque Infantil de Tráfico ‘Albolut’

Pioneering in Andalusia since the 1980s, this children’s traffic park teaches road safety to pupils aged 4–6. It is located on Calle Dr Burgos Canals in Albolote.

Escultura a Don Francisco Lucilo Carvajal

Unveiled in 2010, this sculpture by Venancio Sánchez pays tribute to Francisco Lucilo Carvajal, philanthropist and founder of the Carvajal Foundation. It is located in Plaza de España, Albolote.

Torre del Campanario

This Arab-period cylindrical watchtower, partly buried in rubble, is located north of Albolote.

Centro Sociocultural Fernando de los Ríos

This cultural centre, also known as the Casa de Cultura, offers workshops, exhibitions, theatre and music activities. It is located on Calle León Felipe in Albolote.

Escultura “Labriego”

Unveiled in 2007, this sculpture by César Molina honours the first settlers of El Chaparral, depicting a farmer ploughing and engraved with the names of 120 pioneers.

Pinos Puente

Pinos Puente is a destination enjoyed by nature lovers, as well as by those interested in culture and history. It comprises six main populated areas, each with their own traditions and fiestas: Valderrubio, Casanueva, Fuensanta, Trasmulas, Zujáira and Pinos Puente itself. Pinos Puente was the childhood home of the famous Spanish poet Federico García Lorca. It was in Valderrubio, a district of Pinos Puente, that he first studied literature and wrote some of his earliest works. The town has a population of around 13,500.
