Corral del Carbon, Granada

The Arabic Word bib means gate and rambla river bank. Until the end of the 19th century, there stood, at the plaza´s east end, a large Moorish gate which gave the place its name - gate of the strand, because it stood on the sandy bank of the river which now flows unseen beneath the Calle de los Reyes Catolicos.

Festivals in Sanlúcar de Barrameda

Sanlúcar is also noted for its horse racing which dates back to 1845 and takes place along a 2,000 stretch of beach at the mouth of the Río Guadalquivir during the month of August, daily from 6.00 pm, on the 2nd and 4th weekends of the month (Thursday to Saturday). This is a thrilling spectacle where real racehorses thunder across the sand watched by a large noisy crowd of spectators.

El Mirador del Golf is a complex 2o properties of four buildings sharing small gardens and swimming pool. Located on Avenida Los Cortijos nearly oposite the entrance to Valderrama Golf Club.

Flora

With a relatively high level of rainfall and a reasonable altitude, there is a good coverage of vegetation and trees. The higher and wetter parts offer a range of trees and bushes of all colours, particularly in the autumn months. Greens and yellows, plus the reds of the maple trees contrast with the grey rocks. This is when the trees bear fruit.

Atalaya-Isdabe, Estepona districts

Atalaya-Isdabe occupies the easternmost end of the Estepona municipality, lying between Avenida Hacienda del Sol to the west and the Río Guadalmina to the east. The coastal side of this district developed after the beachfront Atalaya Park Hotel opened, and the area now features a wide range of villas, apartments, and hotels.

Water Parks

The parks have a variety of zones: high-adrenalin water slides including Kamikaze (very steep, almost vertical) and Black Hole (covered tube); multi-lane slides where you can race against your friends; children's areas with shallow pools featuring mini-slides and fun activities; and, increasingly, parks also feature more relaxing wave pools with beaches, lagoons, and even jacuzzis.

Hotels - Family Hotels on the Costa del Sol

A selection of hotels on the Costa de la Luz which are especially well-equipped for, and welcoming to, families. In general this means that various age groups and their needs are catered for, from babies, toddlers and children to teenagers. In terms of facilities, these family hotels will usually offer things such as cots, baby baths, and bottle-warmers, restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, and outdoor play areas.

Malaga City - Fascinating Fact 2

No Andalucian city is complete without its mighty Moorish fortress. Malaga´s Alcazaba is one of the mightiest and most extensive, and dates from the eighth century. It overlooks the recently restored Roman Amphitheatre just below, illustrating the city´s rich history. You can continue following the city´s fortunes over the centuries inside the Alcazabar, in the Archeological Museum, which houses Phoenician, Roman and Moorish artefacts.

Macael

Macael is famous for its marble quarries, from which 80% of all Spanish marble is extracted today. Substantial monuments such as the El Escorial Monastery, the Mezquita of Córdoba and the Alhambra in Granada have been constructed with this marble, but the material is also used for local projects, with marble statues lining the streets and squares of the town, which has around 5,400 inhabitants.
