El Rocío Village

This is a strange outpost of the Wild West, with wide, sandy streets lined with houses complete with broad verandas and wooden rails for tying up horses. It is famous for its annual Romería, the Rocío Pilgrimage at Pentecost when it is overflowing with a seething mass of a million pilgrims, either on foot or with horses and decorated carts.

Marble

The marble and stone carvers of Andalucia are known for their traditional working of tombstones, pantheons and adornments. The carvers of Jaén are well known for their finely carved marble ashlars. There are many factories in the province of Malaga, such as the Colegiata at Antequera. There is a well known quarry at Macael in Almeria Province that produces marble which rivals that of Carrara in purity.

La Mojonera

La Mojonera formed part of the Felix district until 1984. The principal economic activity here is the local production of confectionary, which is recognized throughout the region. The town has around 9000 inhabitants.

Plaza Bocanegra

The square - or rather a traffic roundabout - at the start of the Golden Mile was named after one of Marbella's founders, local priest Monseñor Rodrigo Bocanegra (1908-1972).

Ermita Virgen del Carmen

The Ermita de la Virgen del Carmen in Dólar is a modern chapel inaugurated in 2016. It adds to the town’s religious architecture and devotion to the Virgen del Carmen.

Montellano

Montellano is a town with a perfect balance between beauty and culture. Its pink marble buildings and natural monuments make this place the perfect place for a few days of relaxation. The origins of this town can be traced back to the Bronze Age but Roman ceramics and tombs have also been found in the El Ponce farm, showing the historical importance of this town.

Ambulances are equipped with emergency equipment such as oxygen and life-support systems and drivers and staff are trained to provide first-aid.

North East of Granada City

What you can see in the Alcazaba de Almeria

The interior of the Alcazaba is divided into three walled recintos, or compounds, spreading up the long slope from the lowest part near the entrance; the first two are Islamic, and the third is Christian. A long fortified wall, the Muralla de Jayran (or Jairan), named after the 11th century king who built them, stretches from the Alcazaba, down the hill and up the other side to the Cerro de San Cristobal. From here the panoramic views take in the Alcazaba itself, as well as the city and port stretched out below.
