Palacio de Congresos y Ferias de Jaén. This conference centre has 8 rooms with a total floor space of 4200 square metres and capacity for 713 people. The largest room has a floor space of 600 square metres and a capacity of 418 people.

María

María forms part of the Parque Natural Sierra de María-Los Vélez and is one of the area’s greatest attractions. It has an interesting archaeological heritage, especially present in the cave paintings in Cueva de Haza and the Iberian population at El Pasico. It has about 1200 inhabitants.

Villanueva de los Castillejos

Villanueva de los Castillejos is situated in the heart of El Andevalo. Once a thriving centre of factories creating products such as flour, buttons and hats, today it is mainly a rich agricultural village, most famously known for its production of citrus and nectarines.

History

Dólar has its roots in the Late Roman Empire and was later an important Muslim settlement noted by al-Idrisi for its fortified hilltop castle. After the Reconquista, it became part of the Marquisate of Cenete.

Marinaleda

Marinaleda is primarily an agricultural village, primarily dedicated to olives and producing olive oil. However it is better known for its social experience based on a left-wing ideology of led by Juan Manuel Sanchez Gordillo. It has about 2,700 inhabitants.

Fuente Tójar

Fuente Tójar preserves an ancestral tradition that is celebrated during its Feria Real de San Isidro Labrador. The event features a troupe of famous dancers, made up of eight men dressed in multicoloured costumes that dance to the sound of their own instruments. The village has around 700 inhabitants.

There is a local bus from Cadiz and Seville to Atlanterra calling at Conil. For destinations such as Tarifa, Algeciras, Estepona, Marbella or Malaga you would need to change at Conil.

Riofrío

Just off the A92 motorway about midway between Malaga and Granada is the village of Riofrío. Within easy reach of most Andalusian destinations, as well as both Malaga and Granada airports (40 and 20 minutes drive respectively), Riofrío is a favourite place for those who like fishing and enjoying the countryside.

Monumento Plus Ultra

Plus Ultra was a Spanish Aeronautics Military seaplane that conducted its first flight between Spain and America, taking off on 22 January 1926 in front of La Rabida and arriving to Buenos Aires on 10 February 1926.
