Situated between Estepona and Gibraltar, Manilva is a historic town which had been over-looked for many years by tourists and developers – with the upshot being that it missed the 1970s and 1980s high-rise building trend and has retained a charming, small village feel. Manilva is set back from the coast with great sea and mountainous views. As part of its municipality it boasts 7.8km of rocky coves and wide sandy beaches. These larger sandy beaches are only broken by the marina of Puerto de la Duquesa and another small hamlet. Another village which is included in the municipality of Manilva is San Luis de Sabinillas, which is the closest to the town itself.
