This neoclassical church dates back to the eighteenth century. It has three large naves and beautiful red marble decorations inside. It is one of the most important religious monuments in the entire Alpujarra region of Granada. Designed by Domingo Tomás and built under the direction of Francisco Aguado between 1796 and 1806, it is a basilica-shaped church with two tall twin towers that can hold eight bells, of which only two remain installed.
