Lavadero

Lavadero

The laundry area dates back to the 18th century and has recently been restored. The original large stone washing sink and fountain form a rectangular structure measuring approximately 10x4 metres. In one corner, there is a plinth with a raised pyramidal finish that acts as a water inlet. The complex has a newly built, gabled roof made of flat tiles with wooden trusses. This is supported by cast-iron columns and metal cylinders acting as uprights under wooden shoes, which rest on perimeter ashlars. The structure is open on the sides and has brickwork at the base with a semicircular arch opening. At the exit is a concrete pond containing washing basins. It is located on Calle Antonio Manzano.
