This important fiesta is celebrated the first weekend of May. It comprises of a sieries of events over the weekend. The highlight is on the Sunday evening at 20.00 hrs when the Virgin of Araceli is taken from the San Mareo Church in Plaza Nueva and prosesed around the town. The church is open from 18.00 hrs for the faithful to bless the virigin. Of special interest to visitors are the ladies in bright coloured elegant dress suits wearing full mantillas, and the men who carry the float in white costumes with protective head and shoulder bands.
