COVID 19 MEASURES
Cetursa Sierra Nevada, 2020/21 season
In general, both the general protection measures established by the health authorities and the specific ones that Cetursa Sierra Nevada has established for the station's facilities and activities must be observed.
Measures taken:
USERS
The use of masks is mandatory in the Cetursa Sierra Nevada facilities for people over 6 years old: ski lifts, boarding waiting areas, closed spaces, restaurants, hotels, shops and rentals.
It is mandatory to maintain the safety distance, as well as to respect the indicated circulation circuits and the established capacities.
INSTALATIONS
LOCKERS AND ACCESS
A special system of organization of access queues to the points of sale in Plaza de Andalucía, ATMs and the lower stations of the Borreguiles and Al Ándalus cable cars is established, with the aim of maintaining interpersonal distance between users.
The station promotes the use of the online ski pass purchase or recharge systems (web or App), as well as the new contactless reservation and payment system for the station car parks, these being a guarantee to avoid unnecessary contacts and much more access agile. They also provide added benefits and discounts for the customer.
ASCENDS AND TRACKS
Mandatory use of masks in the access queues and on the ski lifts.
One of the two cable cars, which connects Pradollano with Borreguiles, (preferably the Al-Ándalus cable car) opens at 8.30 am (30 minutes earlier than usual) every day of the season in order to speed up access to the slopes area.
Beyond what is recommended by the health authorities, for greater user safety, limitations are established on the number of users per cabin of the two major ski lifts of the station.
Borreguiles cable car: 6 people per cabin (on a total capacity of 8 seats).
Al-Ándalus cable car: 8 people per cabin (on a total capacity of 14 feet).
These limitations may be overcome as long as it is a family unit living in the same address.
The rest of the station's lifts (chairlifts, ski lifts and carpets), in which users travel outdoors, maintain their usual transport capacity. At the accesses to these mechanical means, a safety distance between users must be maintained before boarding the lift.
Cetursa Sierra Nevada ski lifts are cleaned with environmentally friendly disinfectant products. The cleaning and disinfection service of common spaces is reinforced.
RENTALS AND SHOPS
The ski or snowboard rental establishments managed by Cetursa Sierra Nevada apply capacity limitations, which appear in a visible place.
Groups must reserve and request an appointment to collect the material.
All rental equipment (skis, snowboards, boots and poles) will be cleaned with disinfection products after each use.
RESTAURANTS
The restaurants managed by Cetursa Sierra Nevada (La Bodega restaurant in Pradollano and all the restaurants on the slopes) set a maximum capacity of users and establish with sufficiently visible signage the interior and exterior areas that can be occupied.
Advance reservation is recommended at table service restaurants. This regulation of capacity and use may change depending on what the competent health authority dictates at any time.
HOTELS AND ACCOMMODATION
The hotels managed by Cetursa Sierra Nevada (AH Trevenque and Hotel Telecabina) adapt their facilities to the establishment protocols for tourist accommodation.
The hotels perform a special cleaning before opening, with a disinfectant, bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal cleaner. The apartments will be cleaned in the absence of clients, for greater security.
A safety distance is established in the reception and lounges, with the allowed capacity. There is a separation screen between the receptionist and the client.
There are special disinfectant rugs at the hotel entrances and separation marks at the reception.
The hotels have hydroalcoholic gel dispensers for hands in the reception and common areas.
Elevators and forklifts with individual capacity, except for family and social units.
ACTIVITIES AND COMPETITIONS
Leisure activities can be carried out individually, in family and in groups, always following the recommendations of the health authorities.
The sports competitions that take place in the Sierra Nevada domain will follow the health guidelines established by the sports federations. In the case of winter sports, they will adapt to the RFEDI protocol.
COVID 19 POLICY ON THE FORFAIT OR PEDESTRIAN PASS
Specific COVID clause included in the conditions of use of the ski pass or pass: With the acquisition of the ski lift pass, the user accepts the general conditions of use and the specific mandatory ones established by both the competent health authorities derived from COVID 19, as well as the implanted by Cetursa Sierra Nevada.
The user will only be able to access the facilities if at the time of the visit he is not in home isolation, does not present symptoms, or is in a quarantine period. Consequently, the visitor's access to the Sierra Nevada facilities implies confirmation on their part of such statements in relation to their person.
Likewise, the user agrees to comply with all the security protocols established in the ski resort.
THE GRANADA - SIERRA NEVADA BUS AGAIN HAS DEPARTURES FROM THE CONGRESS CENTER INTERCHANGE
The Junta de Andalucía in Granada launches a new bus service that goes to the Sierra Nevada ski resort. This new service consists of a new passenger pick-up and drop-off stop at the Metropolitan Transport Consortium interchange located in the Palacio de Congresos.
The objective of this service is to make it easier for users to use public transport by adding this stop to the existing one at the bus station, thus eliminating the number of private cars that go up to the ski resort, thus helping to eliminate pollution and following the path of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía and our environmental policy. "The collaboration between the different Ministry of Development and Finance to which Cetursa-Sierra Nevada belongs has made it possible for this claim to be addressed after 18 years," said Granados.
The CEO of Cetursa Jesús Ibañez, thanked this initiative to increase the connectivity of Granada and the resort "heritage of all Andalusians and Granada, the implementation of this service is a success for the ski resort and its users."
Failure to comply with the security protocols will lead to the identification and blocking of the lift pass for that day. Cetursa Sierra Nevada adheres to the rules of use of the Spanish stations established by Atudem.
For his part, the director of the Granada Transport Consortium, Jorge Saavedra, has shown his satisfaction with the launch of this service and the Transport Consortium's commitment to reducing emissions in a highly polluted city. "We invite the people of Granada to use this transport, a complete service to be able to get to the station with ease," says Saavedra.
The schedules of this new line can be consulted on the website of the Consorcio Metropolitano de Transportes de Granada https://siu.ctagr.es/es/noticia.php?id=1608 in its services from Monday to Friday or weekends and holidays.
SIERRA NEVADA GROWS UP TO 45 KILOMETERS TO RECEIVE CHRISTMAS
The Sierra Nevada winter resort expands the skiable offer from December 25 to 45 linear kilometers which, together with the opening of new ski lifts, will allow a capacity of 8,000 skiers to be established while the current snow conditions are maintained.
The opening of new slopes will make it possible to offer tours in five of the six ski areas -one more than those that operated until now- thanks to the incorporation of the Parador Cauchiles area.
Snow thicknesses range between 30 and 100 centimeters of hard powder quality snow, although the eventual lowering of the season foreseen for Christmas Day would allow the start-up of the produced snow system and the improvement of the quality and quantity of snow on Tracks.
The purchase of ski pass in Sierra Nevada will continue to be exclusively online with collection of recharged cards or day pass from automatic dispensers and authorized collection points.
The station requests the collaboration of users in complying with the COVID 19 protocols in order to make Sierra Nevada a safe station.
