San Fernando

The town of San Fernando, often referred to as La Isla del Sur (the Island of the South), is not actually an island but a small peninsula, set within the stunning setting of the Bay of Cadiz. Covering an area of some 30 km2, it is connected to Cadiz City by an eight kilometre strip of land and for centuries was connected on the rest of the mainland only by the Zuazo bridge. It is an important Andalucian town, with a population of close to 100,000.

Atlanterra

Atlanterra, in Cadiz province, is an exclusive urbanisation situated 30km north of Tarifa (and within the municipal boundry) but access is by the only road leading south from the small fishing village of Zahara de los Atunes, which is 10km south of Barbate separated by military land and the salt marshes.

Getting to Vejer

Vejer de la Frontera is located off the N-340 Costal road between the cities of Cádiz and Algeciras. It is at the south of the A-48 autovia south from Cadiz. Take the exit at kilometre 36 and follow the signs to the hill top town up the A-2229.

One of the most unexpected thrills of Vejer for a first time visitor is the huge number of eateries hidden away in the beautiful Pueblo Blanco. Then a further surprise is that it is almost impossible to eat badly in this gastronomic paradise. Vejer doesn't rely just on summer tourists - there are the regular visitors. If the food isn't good, the restaurant will close.

Property

Vejer de la Frontera is perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the Cádiz countryside and coast. If you’re looking for properties in the Vejer area, expect to mainly find flats, townhouses and smaller houses within the village limits.

Alcalá de los Gazules

Alcalá de los Gazules is a spectacularly located historic hilltop pueblo blanco (white town) with stunning architecture. The town is situated in the middle of Cadiz province on the A-381 road from Los Barrios to Jerez. This road is often called "La Ruta del Toro" (Route of the Bull) for the bull-breeding ranches in the vicinity. With a population of about 6,000, Alcala is worth the short detour for a visit.

Parks and Gardens

Some of Spain’s loveliest natural parks are located near Vejer de la Frontera. In fact, the La Breña Natural Park and the Barbate Wetlands (las Marismas de Barbate) are partially located within Vejer’s municipal limits.

If you are exploring the N340 Costa de la Luz coast road, you'd be wise to make time for a wander around Vejer. This classic white village on the hilltop is well worth a visit. It is actually 10 kilometers inland, perched high above the steep gorge of the River Barbate.

Tapa Bars and Cafes

Puerto Real

Much of the municipality forms part of the Natural Park of the Bay of Cadiz. This environmentally protected region is an ornithologist’s delight, being a permanent home to a wide variety of birds including grey herons, cormorants, plovers and ospreys, and the temporary habitat of many more.

Sotogrande Centro Empresarial

This commercial zone is located just off the A-7 motorway, just outside Sotogrande Costa. It comprises five main buildings on the service road next to the A-7 towards Marbella. It is located on the Sotogrande Costa side of Pueblo Nuevo village. It is close to Avenida de Paniagua and provides easy access to essential services, boutique shops, and professional businesses.
