Hotels at the Alhambra
Granada is most famous for the breathtaking Alhambra Palace that towers above the city, a fortress that has been there since the 9th century. In order to truly enjoy any visit to see the Alhambra and this beautiful city.
Some visitors may be interested in a hotel that is located walking distance from the Alhambra Palace entrance so that they can concentrate on an early or late visit to the monument and not have to consider transportation. Often is is interesting to explore the environs of an popular monument before or after the crowds.
Surprisingly there are two hotels actually located within the open-to-public areas of the Alhambra precinct. These are the five-star Parador de Granada and more modest Hotel America.
Additionally there are another four hotels that are located a five minute walk to the Alhambra entrance. One is the five-star Hotel Alhambra Palace itself a historic hotel opened in 1911. Another ithe the Hotel Washington Irving, themed on the 19th century American author of best seller 'Tales of the Alhambra'.
