Macia Monasterio de los Basilios

Located next to the Genil river, in a quiet location, this three-star hotel features the original monastery cloister dating from 1616, which was built over a morabito (Muslim shrine or tomb) by the Marquess of Trujillo. Granada city centre and cathedral are a 10-minute walk away, while the hotel is just 300 metres from the city’s convention centre.

All 76 rooms have flatscreen TVs and free WIFI; ground floor rooms are traditional in décor, while the upper floors are more contemporary, with wood floors, some with balconies.

The restaurant, located in the old refectory with its artesanal roof, offers Mediterranean food. The main patio, with glassed-in, tiled colonnade, has orange and palm trees and a paved stone floor.

Function rooms hold from 65 to 420 standing (the largest space is the main cloistered patio), or 50-250 theatre style.
