Costa Tropical Property

La Herradura Beaches

Impressive large (2km) bay sheltered and dominated by two large headlands. The beach is supported by a typically Spanish town which started out as a fishing village. Popular with the young and old alike, La Herradura is a bastion of national tourism, and is a popular summer retreat for residents of Granada city. It is less well-known among non-Spanish visitors.

Costa Tropical Beaches

The least well-known of the Costas, probably because the name is a recent creation for the coastline of Granada Province. Nevertheless it should not be overlooked. It is characterised by mountains running down to the coast creating a rocky coastline of isolated sandy coves.

Aqua Tropic Almuñecar

Aqua Tropic water park is a good size water park with plenty of shady areas for parents to keep watch. This is the only saltwater water park in Spain, which means fewer chemicals. Ítrabo is a perfect destination for lovers of rural tourism, as well as those interested in smaller villages that have preserved their traditions and heritage.

Vélez de Benaudalla

Vélez de Benaudalla is well-known by climbers as it has some of the best spots in the area to practice this sport. One example is the Garganta de los Vados, in the Guadalfeo River gorge. Nature lovers will also find places such as the Toba River valley, which separates the sierras of Chaparral and Los Guájares. It has about 2885 inhabitants.

Polopos

Polopos is formed by various different areas: Castillo de Baños, La Mamola, Haza del Lino, Haza del Trigo, La Guapa and Polopos. The first two are located on the coast: one on a plain known as Puerta de Baños and the other at the foot of a hill topped with a watchtower; the others are located inland.

Molvízar

Molvízar is especially attractive for tourists searching for a typically Spanish town which has managed to preserve its Moorish roots; it has twice won the “Embellecimiento de Pueblos” award. Visitors can enjoy walking the narrow, winding streets dotted with white houses with balconies and windows adorned with flower baskets.

Jete

Jete has become a popular destination for rural tourism. Situated to the south of the Sierra de Almijara, its village centre extends between the banks of the Río Verde. It has about 1000 inhabitants.

Gualchos-Castell del Ferro

Gualchos is made up of two areas, Gualchos and Castell de Ferro, and is especially interesting for its natural environment; the main attractions being its beaches and cliffs.

Albuñol

Albuñol is comprised of three areas: Albuñol (inland), La Rábita and El Pozuelo on the coast. It has become a popular destination with those searching for the sun and beaches, as well as those interested in rural tourism.

Sorvilán

Sorvilán has a privileged location, nestled between la Sierra de la Contraviesa and the Mediterranean Sea, making it the perfect destination for lovers of rural tourism as well as for those who prefer sun, sand and sea. It is comprised of four different areas; Sorvilán, Alfornón, Melicena and Los Yesos. It has about 525 inhabitants.

Rubite

Rubite is an ideal destination for nature lovers, with the perfect combination of the sierra together with both sandy and rocky beaches. It is considered to be the balcony to the coast from the Alpujarras mountains. It has about 400 inhabitants.

Los Guájares

Los Guájares is comprised of three small villages: Guájar Faragüit, Guájar Fondón and Guájar Alto. The area is located in a small, beautiful subtropical valley, formed by the River Loba. Its name comes from the Arabic word for abrupt, steep and difficult to access, describing the mountain below where the villages are situated.
