Embalse de Cordobilla Natural Area

This reservoir and its immediate surrounding area on the Genil river covers 1,460ha, with a section at its southern end in Seville province. The shore vegetation attracts many birds for nesting.

Access
It is only easy to access the northwestern edge of the reservoir. From Puente Genil take the CV179 minor road southwest to Cordobilla village.

Flora
The shores have been colonised by reedbeds, bulrushes, tamarisk and willows.

Fauna
There are white-headed ducks, purple gallinules, grey and purple herons, moorhens, grebes and white storks. In winter there are red-crested pochards, widgeons, gadwalls, mallards and cranes.
