Museo de Arte de la Diputación de Estepona

The Museo de Arte de la Diputación de Estepona opened in February 2018 and is known as MAD for short. It exhibits 49 paintings from 21st century Spanish artists.  Artists include Dadi Dreucol, Enrique Brinkmann and Chema Lumbreras.

The works of art originate either as donations by the different artists who have exhibited in other public galleries such as La Térmica  and the Centro Cultural Provincial MVA in Málaga, or other art works in plastic purchased and exhibited at 'Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo', Spain's foremost contemporary art fair, better known as ARCO and held every year in Madrid.

MAD de Estepona exhibits works produced since the year 2000 by mainly Málaga artists such as Dadi Dreucol, Enrique Brinkmann, Chema Lumbreras and José Carlos Casado, and Andalucian artists including Santiago Idáñez from Jaén, Chema Cobo from Tarifa and Miki Leal  from Sevilla. In addition there are works by Judas Arrieta from Gipuzkoa in Navarra and Andrés Buforn form Aragón in northern Spain.

The MAD Museum of Estepona is located in Casa de las Tejerinas, in the central Plaza de las Flores.

The Museo de Arte de la Diputación of Estepona was the second to be opened in Málaga province. 'Diputacion' is the name of a provincial government, in this case for Málaga province. The first contemporary art museum opened in the series was the  Museo de Arte de la Diputación of Antequera.

The Casa de Tejerinas also conveniently houses the Estepona Tourist office.
