Flamenco Fashion

Ok so you love flamenco, the next step is to shop for your very own outfit. The vocabulary involved can a little daunting so Andalucia.com have come up with a list for our readers of Spanish words, which should help you on your shopping trip.

 

 

The dress is often known as a traje de gitana or traje de flamenco. Shawl are chal, manoncillo (small), manton (large) Earrings – pendientes

FLAMENCO

Dress - traje de gitana; traje de flamenco
Shawl - chal, manocillo (small), manton (large)
Earings - pendientes
Necklace – collar
Comb – peine (pronounced pay-nay, easily confused with pene - pron pe-nay - so be careful!)
Bag - bolsa

Hair ornaments - adornos para el cabello
