Desierto de Tabernas Natural Area

Sandwiched between the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, Gador, Filabres and Alhamilla is one of the most dramatic landscapes in Spain, the desolate Desierto de Tabernas. The only semi-desert in Europe; there is a surreal, lunar quality about its wierdly eroded ravines, dry river beds and barren slopes apparently devoid of vegetation, bleached by the sun and occasionally singed with ochre hues.

Alhamar Gym

This modern gym has a large cardiovascular machine room, aerobic and yoga classes and sauna a Turkish baths. It also has a UVA Sun Tanning Cabin. Membership fees include use of Sauna and Turkish baths and all classes.

Casa Colon

A symbol of British power in late 19th-century Huelva, the Casa Colón is the grandest of all the buildings constructed by the city's bourgeoisie around the same time. It is an imposing presence at the beginning of the Alameda Sundheim, with a terracotta façade and ornate wrought-iron balconies.

History of Úbeda

Legend has it that Úbeda was founded by Túbal, a descendant of Noah. The name of the city would derive from the mythical tower of King Ibiut. The first settlements in Úbeda date back to the Copper Age, on the hill currently called Cerro del Alcázar.

Iglesia Parroquial de San Idelfonso

The church, built in 1522 on a former mosque site, was renovated over the 16th–17th centuries. Its main altarpiece was crafted by Tomás Morales, and a 17th-century crucifix by José de Mora was later moved to the Church of Peligros.

Pablo de Rojas

Pablo de Rojas moved to Granada in 1579, attracted by the city's rich art and cultural heritage. He studied with Rodrigo Moreno and established his workshop in an area where many artists were working for churches and convents surrounding the Alhambra.

Jerez City Train Station

Jerez de la Frontera train station is located in Plaza de la Estacaion Ferrocarril s/n  located about 500m east of the historic town center. It is served by Alvia Long Distance trains to Madrid, Medium Distance to Cadiz, Sevilla and Corodba with some continuing to Jaén, and Cercanias (local) to San Fernando and Cadiz.

Casares Beaches

East of Sabinillas village is the natural continuation of Playa Sabinillas. The Rio Manilva is the municipal boundary of the inland white village of Casares. The village only has a few km of Mediterranean boundary and beach.

Hinojares

Hinojares is the smallest town in the Jaén province, acquiring its name during Muslim rule, due to the abundance of fennel (hinojo) growing in its municipal district. Part of its charm lies in it being within the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park.

Singer Diana Navarro from Málaga already has a title for her new autumn CD: “The Green Path”. This is meant to pay homage to her most admired flamenco singers. However, not all of them fit, which is why her intuition tells her this is one project that will have a part two.

Montilla - History

Montilla dates back to Roman times suggesting there was a Hispano-Roman nucleus here. From the Muslim era comes the name of Montiya, the area was known as, Mondelia and was sparsely populated at this time, it was bordered by the Coras of Cabra and Córdoba.
