Coronavirus - What can I do or not do?

Wearing a facemasks is NOT mandatory outdoors in Spain, only when 1.5m social distance can be guaranteed. People must carry a mask at all times in case it is required; in anticipation of outdoor crowds or when going indoors such as shops, offices, restaurants and public transport. Facemasks are still obligatory for large outdoor events such as concerts, demonstrations, and sporting events. Andalucia still recommends the wearing of masks outdoors but it in not an obligation.

Flamenco Festival Trocadero 2021

Some of the most celebrated names from the world of flamenco came together at the Flamenco Festival Trocadero in Sotogrande in summer 2021. The first edition of the festival, presented a series of concerts in the popular Trocadero Beach Club and Restaurant.

Ferreira

Ferreira, a quaint little village in the Granada province, was named after the “iron” mineral, which is very abundant here. One of the most important archaeological sites in the area has been found in Ferreira and include the remains of burials and urns dated back to the prehistoric era. The history and civilisations that have left their seal in Ferreira do not go unnoticed, because you find true historical and natural value in every corner.

Cueva de la Graja

These important cave paintings were discovered in 1902, and comprise seven groups of figures painted in red hues. They are attributed to the Neolithic period, around the third millennium BC. The figures are human representations in the “brazos en asa” style, along with abstract animal figures such as bulls, goats and horses, as well as symbols which are difficult to interpret. A scene of grazing animals highlights the functional importance of animals to the prehistoric community, whilst other animal figures suggest a link between fauna and the divine. Declared a National Historic Monument in 1924 and now an Asset of Cultural Interest. Located on Calle Audiencia.

Cadiz Province

Cadiz province has some of Andalucia's most windswept beaches, prettiest white villages, and most celebrated Spanish wine: Sherry. It also boasts one of the region's most-visited protected areas and the rainiest place in Spain: the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. Its coastline has long been peppered with fishing ports that were established by the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans.

Where to see Flamenco

Flamenco can be found in varying forms in Andalucía, whether it is in a tablao, which are mostly aimed at the tourists, or a peña flamenca, which will offer a more authentic side of the art. Flamenco Tablaos are found along the coastal resorts like Málaga, Torremolinos, and Marbella, as well as the big cities like Seville, where the flamenco tablaos are situated in the old part of the city, and in Granada

Almond trees

Almond trees were domesticated as far back as 3,000 BC and have been part of Mediterranean culture for millennia. Approximately 1.7 million tons of almonds are produced every year around the world. Spain is the second-largest almond producer in the world (13% of annual production) after the United States (over 40% annually) and relies on Andalucia and Valencia as its main producing regions.

Hotel Don Carlos, Marbella

The Hotel Don Carlos in Marbella, a Costa del Sol landmark since 1969, reopened in summer 2025 following a three-year, €50 million renovation project. The project was led by the Selenta Hospitality Group, which acquired the hotel in 2006. Selenta are a Spanish hotel owner and operator acquired by the Canadian company Brookfield Asset Management in 2021.

Flamingos Golf at Villa Padierna Golf Club

Los Flamingos Golf has pitched its green fee price at the exclusive end of the range. It is a par 71 golf course. Situated between El Paraíso, Monte Mayor and the Marbella Club Resort, Los Flamingos takes its name from the Los Famencos lake around which Chamberlain & Turner have laid out their 18-hole design. A second Four Seasons Resort is planned to provide accommodation for visiting golfers.

Chercos

Human presence in Chercos can be traced back to prehistoric times, with evidence like cave drawings dating back to two millennia before Christ. The village now has around 280 inhabitants. According to Oliver Asín, the name ‘Chercos’ derives from the Mozarab word yerku, which means “the oak”. This is likely because of the oak trees that would have surrounded early settlements in the area.

San Pedro Beachside Districts

On the beach side of the A-7 (was N-340) coast road, underpass and Boulevard there are several districts of San Pedro. Guadalmina Baja is the beach-side part of the development that is divided by the A-7 (old N-340) coastal highway. The two parts, Guadalmina Baja and Guadalmina Alta are joined by a tunnel and are collectively known as Guadalmina.

Priego de Cordoba

Priego de Córdoba is a prosperous olive-farming town standing on a plateau, overlooking the rolling hills of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park, and is famous for its Baroque churches, in which convoluted patterns are elegantly incised into the stone façades. It has around 22, 500 inhabitants.

Via Verde of the Guadiana River

The Guadiana greenway is 17 kilometres long and runs along part of what used to be the mining railway line between Herrerias and Puerto de la Laja. Trains transported minerals to the river which gives its name to this route in Huelva province.
