The Don Carlos Hotel in Marbella, a landmark on the Costa del Sol since 1969, is set to reopen in summer 2025 following an extensive multi-million renovation. The project is being led by the Selenta Hospitality Group who adquired the hotel in 2006, a Spanish hotel owner and operator adquited by the Canadian Brookfield Asset Management in 2021.

Interior designer Jaime Beriestain is overseeing the redesign, drawing inspiration from local craftsmanship and the surrounding Mediterranean landscape. His approach uses natural materials such as marble, local ceramics and raffia in soft, earthy tones, creating spaces that feel both refined and welcoming. The tower bedrooms are decorated with wallpaper featuring birds and flowers, creating a cheerful and uplifting atmosphere.

When it reopens, Don Carlos Marbella will offer 308 rooms, including 57 Junior Suites and a Presidential Penthouse Suite, all with panoramic views of the sea and gardens. There will also be 24 private residences with exclusive pool access. Guests can look forward to a wide range of dining options across several restaurants and bars, along with two beach clubs — one of them being Nikki Beach Marbella. Other highlights include a renovated spa, a tennis centre, and a children’s club with aquatic play areas. For events and conferences, the hotel will offer 17 meeting rooms set within more than 20,000 square metres of landscaped gardens.
