Metropolitan area

The Metropolitan Area is the name of a 'comarca' (region or area) in the centre of the province of Seville. It is made up from 3 municipal districts and other small villages.

Lavaderos

Throughout history, washing clothes has been one of the most common tasks carried out by women. Until running water became widely available in homes, this task was carried out on the banks of rivers, in irrigation ditches, water troughs or courtyards. From the eighteenth century onwards, washhouses became places where women worked and socialised.

Districts

Like all towns of its dimensions, Fuengirola has commonly known districts, which are handy as landmarks and reference when getting around: El Centro (The heart of the centre of Fuengirola is the Plaza de la Constitución), Los Boliches (Los Boliches is the seafront area to the eastern side of Fuengirola centre).

Marina

The Club de Mar de Almería is a nautical club located in Almería, Andalusia. It is one of the most important clubs in Spain, along with the rest of the members of the Spanish Association of Nautical Clubs, to which it belongs.

Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Carmen

This small hermitage has very simple architectural lines, and presents a white façade with a large access door, finished in a semi-circular arch, and crowned by a simple belfry. Loacted on Camino Ermita.

Dique de Campanario

A dyke that runs for 10km southwest of Valverde del Camino in the direction of Beas. It was built for the mine of Campanario and now is a pleasant walk by the water course. It is extremely deep in place and is 80% full for most of the year now that it no longer supplies the town with water.

Ceuta See & Do - Museum of the Legion

When it was first created in 1940, the Legion Museum was in a barracks room of the 2nd Legion Tercio in Morocco, but due to the country's independence in 1956 the Tercio was transferred and along with it the museum. It records historical testimonies of this elite unit that was founded in Ceuta in 1920 by Millan Astray. In addition to banners, uniforms, photographs and weapons, a portrait of Millan Astray was painted by Ignacio Zuloaga and a propaganda poster painted for the Legion by Mariano Bertuchi in 1925. Shopping

Shops at Málaga airport are open for business on both sides of the security control check point. If you need a piece of luggage or you didn’t have time to buy souvenirs, you should be able to find what you need in Terminal 3 (T-3) across from the check-in desks numbering around the 40´s and 50´s – near Starbuck’s coffee.

Iglesia Parroquial de Santa Ana

Built by Christians at the beginning of the sixteenth century on the site of a Muslim hermitage, the monument consists of a central nave and a main chapel, which are separated by a large arch. There is a roof for each section. The monument suffered during the Alpujarras War between 1568 and 1571, when it was destroyed and burned by the Moors. It was repaired in 1594, but was not structurally sound, so its framework was rebuilt in 1629.

Marbella Districts

Marbella extends much further east and west along the Costa del Sol than the town. Within the Marbella municipal district limits you will find a wide variety of sub-districts or neighbourhoods, most of which are dominated by spectacular views of "La Concha" mountain which towers behind the town.

Safety Considerations

Depending upon your personal situation, there may be several safety considerations to keep in mind. The family with small children or elderly or handicapped members needs to pay attention to some or all of the following issues, while others are valid for any age and are simply things to consider when looking for a home.

Ayuntamiento

The most significant civil building is the Town Hall, which, built in 1914 and undergoing regular restoration since 1973, retains its original style. Its central part is recessed and its two lateral arms with a prismatic structure protrude to the outside.
