Puente Arabe (Moorish bridge)

Conjunto Dolménico Los Gabrieles

One of the most important monumental ensembles of megalithic art in the region, which are also in a good state of conservation. They were discovered by José Maria Luzón in 1966, although they were not studied until 1974.

Ceuta See & Do - Late Roman Basilica

This museum was created when the remains of the Late Roman Basilica were discovered. They are of great historic importance since they are the only Christian remains on these shores of the Mediterranean from the fourth century. The Basilica is a building formed by a single rectangular room and two side naves, made of stone from local quarries. From studies conducted, it is now known that it is an unfinished monument, either for historical reasons related to the area or because it was used as a cemetery.

Iglesia Santa María la Mayor de Alcútar

The primitive church from the 17th century was destroyed by the Moors during the Rebellion of Las Alpujarras. During this rebellion, the Moors entered the church during midnight mass.

The Champagne Room

Elegant late-night drink and dance venue, stylishly decorated to resemble the original Champagne Room of the 1960s. Arte Deco by designer Jean-Pier Martel. Well-heeled, sophisticated atmosphere and situated within the Hotel Marbella Club. This chic lounge is both stylish and opulent, and attracts some of Marbella´s top socialites. Subtle tunes are played early on, and some great dance music later on in the evening.

Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción

This modern church was built in 1968, housing the images of San Miguel, San José and the Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepción. Located southeast of Espelúy, in Poblado del Lara, on Carretera del Puente.

AVE Train Sets

Class 102, built by Talgo of Madrid with Adranz (now Bombardier) power car technology since 2005. The 2 power and 12 passenger car train has earned the nickname 'pato' (duck) from the aerodynamic shape of the fronts. Each set consist of 6 tourist coaches (four seats wide), 3 preferente coaches (three seats wide), and 2 club (three seats wide) coaches and a cafe car. Passenger capacity is 302 seats. Powered by eight 1,300 horsepower motors the sets have an intended top speed of 330 km/hr.

Almáchar

The banks of the river that runs by Almáchar have vineyards, olive groves, wheat fields and small orchards; at farmhouses, grapes are made into raisins using traditional methods - laying them out to dry in beds. The town is one of several making up the Ruta de la Pasa (Raisin route).

Cueva de los Letreros

This cave is one of the most important painted shelters in the south of the peninsula, discovered in 1861. Its dimensions are 25m wide, about 6m deep and a height that ranges in the central area between 8 and 10 meters.

Genalguacil - Encuentros de Arte 2008

A bi-annual event during the first two weeks in August on even years there is an art festival in Genalguacil called "Los Encuentros de Arte del Valle del Genal", and prize-winning works of art are created by 'Artists in residence' and placed on permanent public display throughout the village afterwards.
