Puebla de Guzmán

Puebla de Guzmán is located in the western part of Huelva. With Thars is in the east, Villanueva de los Castillejos in the south and the border to Portugal several kilometres to the west, Puebla de Guzmán has 3127 inhabitants.

San Bartolomé de la Torre

San Bartolomé de la Torre is surrounded by eucalyptus and located in a soft plain, north of the city of Huelva. It has defied the passage of time between meadows and forests belonging to the judicial district of Huelva and borders the municipalities of Villanueva de los Castillejos and Gibraleón. It has 3446 inhabitants.

Calañas

Located in the central part of Huelva province, Calañas has around 4000 inhabitants. The mineral wealth of Calañas attracted civilizations such as the Phoenicians and the Romans, who came in search of copper, gold and silver, fundamental for their economy. Discoveries of amphorae, tombstones and coins suggest the existence of the Roman village "El Morante".

El Cerro de Andévalo

El Cerro de Andévalo is located west of Minas de Río Tinto in the Andevalo region of Huelva province. The word cerro, means hill, and the village was named for its situation south of the hill. It has approximately 2500 inhabitants.

Cabezas Rubias

The name of this town refers to being surrounded by golden-coloured mountains which resemble blonde heads.

Berrocal

Berrocal is a charming village of approximately 400 inhabitants, located 305m above sea level in the eastern part of El Andévalo. The Rio Tinto river runs along the west side of Berrocal, between the mountains of Alabarderos, Sierra de Enmedio and Sierra de la Picota.

Alosno

Alosno is set in the heart of El Andevalo, 43km from Huelva. The district of Alosno covers an area of approximately 200,000km2 and consists of 4792 inhabitants spread between Tharsis and Alosno. It reaches up to El Cerro del Andevalo in the north, Gibraleon and Trigueros in the south, Puebla de Guzman to the west and Calañas to the east.

Trigueros

Trigueros is situated along the west side of the Comarca El Condado. A predominantly agricultural village with about 7400 inhabitants.

Paterna del Campo

Paterna del Campo is situated east of the Comarca El Condado. An agricultural village surrounded by worked land and neighbouring Escacena del Campo. It has about 3500 inhabitants.

Villalba del Alcor

Villalba del Alcor is situated in the heart of Comarca El Condado, east of La Palma del Condado. It thrives mainly on agriculture, specifically grape for the local production of wines from the Comarca. It has about 3500 inhabitants.

Rociana del Condado

Rociana del Condado is situated within the Comarca El Condado. Like its neighbouring villages, it thrives on agriculture, mainly strawberries, raspberries and grapes for the local wine. It has about 7600 inhabitants.

La Palma del Condado

La Palma del Condado provides a traveller with many attractions both cultural and gastronomic during any season. The old part of town has been declared of cultural interest and the surrounding countryside is becoming ever more famous for their production of wine.

Aljaraque

Aljarque is a town about 8km west of Huelva City with about 19, 800 inhabitants. We have included Aljarque in El Andevalo section although it is more considered a satellite town of Huelva City. Aljaraque appeals to all lovers of nature as well as rural and active recreation. It is equipped for sports such as golf, horse riding, cycling and hiking, forming part of the Paraje Natural Marismas del Odiel.

Villarrasa

Villarrasa is situated within the Comarca El Condado and thrives on it agricultural production of olives, vines and fruit. It has about 2100 inhabitants.

San Juan del Puerto

San Juan del Puerto is situated far south west of Comarca El Condado, bordering the capital of Huelva. Although considered an agricultural village, it is also an industrial location, due to its proximity to the capital. It sits on the north bank of the Rio Tinto. Through traffic from Seville to Huelva now by-passes the village on the A-49 Motorway. It has about 8700 inhabitants.

Lucena del Puerto

Lucena del Puerto is situated south of El Condado. One of the well-known locations in Huelva dedicated to agricultural, specifically strawberry and raspberry production, as seen by the surrounding fields of greenhouses. It has about 2800 inhabitants.

Niebla

The village of Niebla is located roughly 30km to the southeast of Huelva city and 60km from Seville on the shores of the río Tinto. It is located on plain land. With a population of roughly 4000 inhabitants, its relatively small number of inhabitants does not reflect the amount of beauty and archaeological heritage.

Manzanilla

Manzanilla is situated east of the Comarca El Condado surrounded by agricultural land, mainly vine, all to which goes to producing local wines from the Condado. It has about 2300 inhabitants.

Hinojos

Hinojos is situated within the Comarca of El Condado. Legend has it that it was here that King Alfonso X fell to his death on his knees before the patron saint, Virgen del Valle. It has about 3,900 inhabitants.
