Puerto Banús - Villa Marina
On the east side of where a small river once flowed (before the construction of Nueva Andalucia) is Villa Marina district. This is a mix of villas and complexes - half are accessed from the western entrance by the underpass and roundabout and others such as Medina Gardens, and Andalucia de Mar from the Puerto Banus side on Avenida de Lola Flores.
A number of private villas remain here and some have taken advantage of the direct access to the seafront promenade to be converted into beach clubs. One such was the successful Buddha Beach which became the even more successful La Sala Beach club. There is some dispute of the issuing of licence for this use.
