Estepona Summer Feria 2024
Estepona Summer Feria takes place the first week in July from Tuesday to Sunday and gives everyone a week to enjoy dancing, drinking and eating. Both the day fair and the night fair take place at the 'Parque Ferial y Deportivo' located at the top of Avenida Juan Carlos I next to the A-7 coastal highway.
The Estepona summer fair officially called the ‘Feria and Fiestas Mayores’ is held on the first week in July mostly at the town’s Parque Ferial. It traditionally runs from evening of first Tuesday in July to late night of the following Sunday. If the first Tuesday is the 7th of July the Feria may start on the first of July. Traditionally many of the amusement rides and stalls open for business as early as the previous weekend.
Most of the weeks’ events take place in the Feria ground. A few years ago the tradition was a feria del dia (day fair) in the old town centre and a feria del noche (night fair) in the feria ground. The day fair has now moved in Estepona and other Costa del Sol towns to the Feria ground due to complaints about the disruption and noise. The feria ground is the perfect place to enjoy this summer fair in the evenings. In the day time the Feria in the feria ground lacks atmosphere.
2024 Feria Highlights
The Caseta Municipal will host free concerts by King Africa, David Barrull, José Ortiz, Miguel Campello, Merche and Las Hermanas Rodes.
From Thursday to Saturday there will be a free horse-drawn carriage ride around the feria ground every afternoon from outside the Caseta Municipal.
To officially open the Feria, 'Bloco Eleguá', recent winners of the International Batucada Festival, PERCUmon 2024, will parade through the city centre on Tuesday evening. This is followed by the reading of the opening speech; pregon by the Bilbao actor Carlos Sobera. The event will take place at 21.30 on Avenida de España, with a performance by the singer Esperanza Soria. After this there will be a firework display, followed by the cutting the ribbon and turning on the lights at the Fair Ground.
On Wednesday of the fair will be dedicated to children who will be able to enjoy a children's party at 19.00 hours with 'Los Narizotas' from the Mr. Pollo Circus.
Thursday, 4th July, the Fiesta for the Elderly will take place in the Caseta Municipal, which will be enlivened by the performance of José Ortiz, a participant in the TV contest 'Se llama Copla'.
From Friday to Sunday, between 12.00 and 20.00 hours, the Horse Parade will be open. Riders dress up in Andalusian style and with their horses decorated. On Sunday 7th July at the VII Concurso de Enjaezado a la Andaluza, taking place in the Paseo de Caballos of the fairground. Prizes are awarded to the best-dressed horses and riders in each category: Rider, Young Rider, Veteran Rider, Couple and Amazon.
On Sunday late afternoon, the bullring will host the traditional bullfight. Six bulls from the Hermanos García Jiménez and Olga Jiménez bull-ranch will be fought by the top bullfighting stars Morante, Castella and Roca Rey.
