Puente de Hierro fields of Santa Maria polo club
The grounds of Puente de Hierro are situated further inland, next to the Guadiaro River, close to the old iron bridge, hence the name. There are three playing fields, two of them reserved during the International Summer Tournament for use in medium and low handicap matches. They were inaugurated in 1992 and the modern five-star stable blocks for 39 horses are located here.
There is ample parking, and extensive landscaped areas measuring 10 hectares with grounds to accommodate events.
Access is slightly more complicated. From the A-2103 between the Iron Bridge over the River Guadiaro and Guadiaro Village. 500m west of the bridge (Guadiaro village side) take the signed track that leads down alongside the orange groves and then under the bridge itself and onwards towards to the ample parking for the polo fields.
