Sotogrande Polo Tournaments

The Sotogrande Polo Tournaments are held every year from April to September. They are divided into four groups. First the Spring Tournaments, then the Early Summer Tournaments, followed by the prestigious International Summer Tournament, and finally the End of Summer Tournaments.

Admission to all matches during the season is free of charge.

Spring Tournaments
In 2025 the Spring / Easter Tournaments, were organized by the Iberian Polo Tour and took place at the Ayala polo fields and at the Los Pinos fields. The José Ignacio Domecq Cup was 3rd to 13th April 2025. The Baron de Strabrock Cup was 17th to 20th April 2025 and the Cupa de Jerez was 24th to 27th April. Spring Tournaments had been traditionally organised by Santa Maria Polo Club and took place over Easter and most weekends from late March to the end of April at the Puente de Hierro polo fields. We will update this for 2026 when info is available.

Early Summer Tournaments 2026
Early Summer Tournaments in May are organised by Ayala Polo Club and generally take place at the Ayala polo fields. Early-summer season opens with the Welcome Cup (19th to 24th May 2026) and the KE Sotogrande Cup (26 to 31st May 2026) and continued with the Joseph McMicking Cup (4 to 14 June 2026) and the Open de España (18 to 28 June 2026) followed by the most important early-summer tournaments; memorial Manuel Prado y Colón de Carvajal (2nd to 12th July 2026) and to the Sotogrande Polo founder the Enrique Zóbel Cup (2 to 12 July 2026).

Summer 2025 Tournaments  2026
The 55th International Polo Tournament, organised by the Ayala Polo Club, will begin with the Bronze Cup, which will be played from Monday 27th July to Saturday 1nd August 2026. This will be followed by the Silver Cup, which will take place from 3th to 15th August, and will conclude with the Gold Cup, which will take place from 17th to 29th August.

The tournament features about 25 teams divided into three categories: High Handicap (20–22 goals), Medium Handicap (12–14 goals) and Low Handicap (6–8 goals). Matches will take place on the Ayala Sede Los Pinos in Sotogrande and Ayala Polo Club pitches San Enrique de Guadiaro.

Sede Los Pinos. This area will include shops, a weekend market, food trucks, a Croft-sponsored bar, and three free concerts. Admission to all the polo matches is free. Spectators can enjoy the facilities of 'The Last Chukker', located between fields 3 and 4.

Late Summer Tournaments 2026
The Late Summer Tournaments continue with the Copa San Enrique de Guadiaro (3 to 6 September 2026) and close with the Copa Despedida, or Farewell Cup (10 to 13 September 2026). The Late Summer Tournaments usually take place at the Ayala Polo fields

Summer International Tournament
The 54th edition of the Summer International Tournaments takes place in July and August (28th July to 30th August 2025) and is organised by Ayala Polo Club and generally takes place at the Los Pinos fields with some heats taking place at the Ayala polo fields.

There are three tournaments each year: Bronze (28 July to 2 August 2025), Silver (4th August to 16 August 2025 ) and Gold (18 August to 30 August 2025). Each tournament is divided into three handicap divisions: High, Medium and Low goals. About Handicaps.
