OJEN TO MARBELLA AND ISTAN
Stay on the A-355 towards Marbella. The road is wide and drops back down to the coast with a road which winds around for about nine kilometres before meeting civilisation.
Before crossing the Marbella bypass you can turn right for San Pedro, Ronda (see San Pedro to Ronda Itinerary) Estepona and the western Costa del Sol. After crossing over the Marbella by-pass you can turn left for Calahonda, Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmadena Malaga and the Eastern Costa del Sol. Continue straight on for the center of Marbella.
There is a delightful trip from Marbella to Istan. The village is tucked away beneath the Sierra Blanca at the head of the valley of the rio Verde, close to the Serrania de Ronda. To reach Istan, leave the A-7 coastal highway 5 kilometres south of Marbella, via the A-7176 just beyond the Hotel Puente Romano. Take a picnic and enjoy the spectacular views to the lake.
