History

Interestelar has 'de facto' taken over from Territorios which was an international music festival held every year since 1998 in the grounds of the Monasterio de la Cartuja third weekend in May. It attracted big international names, such as Fatboy Slim, Tricky and Basement Jaxx. Territorios was attended by 32,000 in 2015. Sadly the 2016 edition was cancelled shortly before the event, with the organisers citing economic reasons and lack of institutional support.

At the first edition of Interestelar in October 2016 artists were: Love of Lesbian, 091, Ivan Ferreiro, Fuel Fandango, Maga, Guadalupe Plata,  Carmen Boza, The Prussians, Mucho Modelo de Respuesta Polar, Pony Bravo, Miss Caffeina and El imperio del Perro. Unfortunately unusaully heavy rain overshadowed the first edition and the Saturday (second of two) night's performances had to be cancelled. The second edition in 2017 was much more successful! The 2018 dates were 17,18,19 May 2018.

In 2019 Interestelar took take place again on three stages in the Monasterio de la Cartuja on the 24th and 25th of May 2019. Artists such as Vetusta Morla, Fangoria, Iván Ferreiro, Rozalén, La Moda, Tote King, Morgan, Nixon, Sweet Barrio, Kuve, Carmen Boza, De Pedro played at this Indie music festival.

2020 edition was cancelled and 2021 was postponed until 3rd and 4th September 2021. In 2022 dates were Fri 20th and Sat 21st May 2022. Friday acts included Rigoberta Bandini, La Moda, Ginebras, La La Love You, Muerdo, Innmir, Siloé, Irenegary, Ambkor, Morning Drivers, Tigre and Diamante, We are not DJs, Taao. Saturday acts are Nathy Peluso, Miss Caffeina, Zahara, Califato 3/4, Cariño, Veintiuno, Les Castizo, Karavana, Barry B, Emlan, Chill Chicos, Asunción, La Rubia Pincha, Stereofan, Zaza.
